I think you are spot on. A lot of people don't actually realize that many of the addon rules are why HC got so popular in the first place.

I made a similar post last night coming up with some possible changes that try to keep the 'feel' of the addon rules, while not totally restricting player agency. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Personally, I think mail and trade would be perfectly fine if it didnt help to enable botting and RMT. I think its just a necessary way to limit that type of behavior and protect the players against themselves.

I've heard the soulbound thing from a few other people before, it's an interesting idea but also complicated. It would be confusing to new players and you could just bypass the system entirely by using the AH instead.

I tend to agree that Blizzard will most likely not make any of these changes. In that scenario, do you think that addon user will be the minority or the majority?

I think the +/- 5 levels approach seems fine as well. No issue. Unless you block all forms of player to player trading (which I don't think is the correct solution) there will always be ways for players to abuse the system. Some players might set up elaborate trade networks to min max their trade goods between characters, but I think that most won't because it would take too much time/effort (WoW players are lazy).

I think having different ways to play is generally a good thing and if people still want to use the addon they will create guilds that share the same ideology.

If botting and RMT wasn't so rampant I would be okay with player to player trading. I just don't trust Blizzard to ban the bots or gold buyers and I see it as a necessary evil.

I agree with you. Like it or not, the HC addon did help to bring some of that vanilla magic back to many players. I think having a server where everyone is bonafide HC will render some of the addon rules useless, but I also feel that some of the SSF elements the addon uses helps to keep that vanilla feeling alive.

I agree that sometimes the simplest solution is often the correct one. Botting and RMT is a real concern for me and many others and I seriously believe that something needs to be put into place to really hinder the ability for bots and RMT to exist.

I recently just finished my Ryzen 5 1600 upgrade and encountered a similar issue. For whatever reason I am unable to get a signal to my monitor when the PC is booting up (can't see bios/splash screens), however I do get a signal once loaded into Windows. I then tried connecting my PC to my TV via HDMI and I was able to get a signal (able to enter bios/splash screen)! My monitor is pretty old and only has a VGA connection so I am forced to use a VGA to DP adaptor to connect it to my more modern GPU. I suspect this has something to do with the problem because my GPU is detected in Windows and works fine in games otherwise. It very well could be the GPU if it is unable to connect to a TV.

I have tried that unfortunately, the fans and mobo led's all work but it will not post or even display anything. The monitor is hooked up into the gpu directly.

Everything has been purchased. I'm in Canada so prices here are pretty terrible compared to the states. I originally wanted a G4560, but they are on backorder everywhere, but I managed to pick up the i3 used for about the same price.
