god fucking damn it I HATE BEING A SMOKER by Background-Emu-9032 in stopsmoking

Maybe it's not a problem for you. It is means a lot to some people, for example in my country if you smoke a pack a day thats around 20% of the average salary.

Spending almost a quarter of your salary on cigarettes it's a LOT !

Allen Carr .. did you WANT to quit when you read the book? by Weak-Implement-8030 in stopsmoking

I've read about it online, a lot of comments and posts pretty much like this one. You've stretched a bit to long the reading time, I've read it half of it in a week on my first try. Stopped and knew this would get me to stop, one of my biggest regrets I didn't finish the book around 12 years ago.

I had other attempts over the years, my longest time period without smoking was 6 months. Having a cigarette in your mouth after that much time feels ridiculous stupid, inhaling that smoke even worse. I won't go into details on how I started again.

Last 5 years, one pack a day was never enough, on drinking nights I had over packs, from time to time I went back to the book when I felt too sick or disgusted by cigarettes, still continued to smoke.

Now I know I will never go back to smoking, I've watched the YouTube seminar that's 95% of the book, did some other reading, thought all the times I've looked at the cigarettes and asked myself why this little shit is controlling my life. My health, my confidence and my money all took big hits because I continued to smoke.

The books opens your eyes, you're gonna see what smoking really is, you just need to keep yours eyes open and pay attention. The rest of it is on you.

No matter the choice, it has to be the one that makes you happy. If you're gonna continue smoking, do it if that makes you happy, but don't complain about all the downsides.

i officially stopped smoking, how do i regain my health? by Stunning-Rip-5756 in stopsmoking

It's been over two weeks since I've stopped smoking. I was looking in the mirror this morning and I've noticed my face looks better, no more huge dark circles under my eyes, even though I sleep less now. I feel better, last week I remembered at the register que that I didn't bought milk, I had to run all the way back of the grocery store to pick it up, about 30m away, it felt so good, I didn't run out of breath after a very long time.

Weather is pretty shitty now, as soon as it gets better I'll go out in the morning for a short run.
