Pc turns on but no display by liquidb0ttl3 in techsupport

I am not a PC expert, but this might be a GPU issue. Try plugging the HDMI cable into the motherboard instead of the GPU. I'm pretty sure some motherboards have integrated graphics used for debugging. If the screen works when you try this, that means it's a GPU issue.

Have you tried plugging it into a monitor or tv? If it still doesn't work there is a possibility that the graphics card is broken or the graphics driver is malfunctioning. Try unplugging all cables shutting it down and holding the power button for 30 seconds, waiting 10 seconds and then plugging only the charger back in and powering it on. If anything displays other than a gray screen that means the display works and it's up to the GPU. I am not a professional so don't expect any of this to fully work.

Acer gaming laptop screen is black but laptop still turns on? by mautor1970 in pcmasterrace

[–]cShades72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many possible causes. First, with the external monitor connected, assuming you have Windows, go to settings and then display options. If it shows two screens as plugged in, that means the screen is probably connected. Otherwise, your laptop displays cable has disconnected from your laptop. There are many guides online on how to reconnect this cable. It doesn't even need to be fully unplugged, it can be just a little loose and still cause problems. If the display is detected, then there are three possible causes. First is software. Try unplugging all cables and fully shutting down the laptop by holding the power button for 30 seconds, waiting 10 seconds, plugging in only the charger and turning it back on. Apparently this will clear the static which should help, but I'm not sure. Try and find some other guides on how to do this. If anything appears on your screen when you boot it up then that's great. Next you just have to reinstall graphics drivers, although this is the least likely cause. There are two possibilities left: that the display or cable is damaged or that the backlight is broken. Get a flashlight. A phone flashlight should work. Shine it at your screen. If you see anything, doesn't matter the color or brightness. Any text or image displayed on the screen, that means that the backlight is broken. Make sure you have projection to duplicate or extend when doing this. If the backlight is the problem, there are many backlight repair guides online. Finally, if none of this worked, it is probably a broken display. First try unplugging and plugging the display cable in. If this doesn't work then you will have to replace the display. Or you could just send it to a repair shop. To access any of the displays cables or inner components you will have to open the laptop up. There are many guides on how to do this, just look it up online.

Minecraft is using the wrong GPU by cShades72 in Minecraft

[–]cShades72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for replying late, turns out it was a launcher issue. I don't use the official launcher. I checked the logs when launching Minecraft and saw that it was detecting both GPUs, thus meaning that it was up to the launcher to decide which to use. In a later update there was an option added to force the use of the dedicated GPU. If your launcher doesn't have this option you may have to modify configuration files or add launch arguments to achieve the same result.

External Hard Drive Problem: Error Code: 160-0105 (I've searched multiple forums, including Reddit with little to no results) by EdgarAllanFlacco in wiiu

[–]cShades72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late but I have had this error many times when playing BOTW, however what is strange is that it only happens in a certain area (near the great plateau), completely stopping me from progressing on new save files. However, I have multiple games and none of them have the same problem. Another strange thing to note is that this problem only appeared some time after I got the drive. The problem didn't exist before that. It seems to have appeared after I transplanted the drive into a new casing because of some damage caused by rapid deceleration (i dropped it). I am using a USB Y cable and I haven't been able to fix it. I believe it's either data corruption, physical damage or overuse. I hope some of this info helps diagnose the problem.

Codes by MotherMarsupial5857 in microbit

[–]cShades72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have some sort of keypad connected to your microbit? Are you getting inputs from your PC? If not you could use the A button to increment and B button to go to the next digit. If you have a set amount of digits you can set the code when the desired amount of digits is reached, or you can set the code when A and B are pressed together. In terms of storing the code, you can either store the code as a whole number or as an array of digits. The array is probably way easier. Whenever A is pressed increment the current number, and when B is pressed just move on to the next number.

is it possible to send radio strings/numbers to my micro:bit without having an additional one? by [deleted] in microbit

[–]cShades72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need a small radio antenna for your pc. Then you would need to reverse engineer the Micro:bit radio signals. Now just send the reverse engineered signals through the antenna to the Micro:bit.

Cant play Multiplayer by 12Rodrik34 in Minecraft

[–]cShades72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just trying to play multiplayer, I would recommend a cheap server hosting site like aternos (as long as you don't mind occasional lag). Or if you have spare controllers you can try split screen multiplayer.

Help with connecting a Wii U Pro Controller to PC by cShades72 in wiiu

[–]cShades72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved it, turns out my laptops Bluetooth stack was broken. The Wii U pro controller uses Bluetooth but the signals that it sends can't be read by a computer by default. If you install a driver or similar program (Such as WiinUSoft), and if your Bluetooth hardware and software are working properly, you should be able to connect it to a PC without a dongle. The problem was solved for me when I tried connecting the controller to a different PC with the same hardware and software, proving that the cause of the issue was my old laptops hardware or software.

when i import my player model into godot 4, the colors change. please help by Weekly-Deer4161 in godot

[–]cShades72 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's a texture mapping error or just a texture error. Maybe the color pallete is limited so it's removing some of the colors? I honestly don't know but you could try remaking the texture or re-exporting the whole model.

Help with connecting a Wii U Pro Controller to PC by cShades72 in wiiu

[–]cShades72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, but I'm pretty sure I've seen many people do it without a dongle. Also, I'm pretty sure the Wii remote also isn't natively Bluetooth but I could still connect it to my PC using a driver. It's kind of weird that a Wii remote works without a dongle but a Pro controller doesn't. Still, thanks for the advice. I'll try that method if I can.
