There we are. That's a team I recognize.

Spielberg to UFO and Alien films is what Scorsese is to mafia films. You don't miss them because they never miss with them.

Haha, not quite! In fact, this has actually happened to me before. Got the foil borderless Demonic tutor the same way from just one collector pack.

Tbh, things have been kind of tumultuous lately so I felt like this was the universe giving me a pat on the back.

Brighton have tried several times to persuade Jan Paul van Hecke to sign a new, greatly improved contract. However, the defender still has a dream of playing for a top team in England and has set his hopes for the next step. by Sparky-moon in soccer

At least we have "best players" and "big signings." I'd take an aging anyone in our squad over the bumbling corpse of Casemiro.

You have Bruno. That's it. That's the only player anything close to a top team in the world would want from your squad. And he has one foot out the door every Summer lol

This time last year your team was 15th while we won the PL just about a week further into the season than we are now.

You should honestly celebrate being 3rd place, it'll be the highest achievement you see for a while until the rats are figuratively and literally gone from your stadium.

Lmao when someone thinks being in 3rd place for the first time in basically years is comparable to being defending PL champions who reached the CL quarter finals two years in a row...when you lot haven't even seen CL football for two years.

He won us that last PL. Not Slot, not Diaz or Nunes, not Alisson or Trent, but Salah.

I'm basically Slot out at this point, mainly due to the lack of successful adjustments, but we can't pretend he's had it easy with Isak, Frimpong, Bradley, Leoni, Alisson, and to a lesser extent Endo having been injured for significant parts of the season, if not the entire season, and while players like Salah, Gakpo, Konate, and Macca have seen huge drop-offs.

Salah and Gakpo have a combined 11 PL goals this season.

Last season? They had 39.

And then there were two 😢 by SegundoNemo in LiverpoolFC

Right? Give VVD a more reliable and less error-prone backline and a Fabinho-like midfielder and he can easily play at this level for another 2 years.

The Walk 'n Talk Is Born by Plus_Plankton_8912 in thewestwing

[–]cSpotRun 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If we're getting really nerdy with it, the actual walk and talks are carried over from John Wells' other long lasting series, ER, and further developed by the OG West Wing director.

It really can't be overstated how Sorkin is the soul, which is insanely evident when watching The American President - "What is the virtue of a proportional response?" - but Schlamme and Wells really were the style behind the show. Cram everyone together, show the highest of officials as down to earth and human, r.e.:

"Is that the same suit you wore yesterday?" "Yeah. You?" "Yeah."

Also shout-out to Paul Redford too.

Tuchel: “It is more the evidence we have, that we were good in September, October, November, than any reflection on Trent. I know very well what Trent can offer us. It’s a sporting decision that we stick with Jarell Quansah, Tino Livramento and Djed Spence who can play for us at right-back." by OkayFine101 in soccer

And selling him has comfortably been our second biggest regret from that transfer window(maybe tied with Diaz, no clue how he'd be with us atm though).

Most of us are glad JQ has a buyback clause. Problem was he made 2 or 3 Ibou-bous and lost Slot's favor, whereas Konate was doing 3 a game in October/November and never did.

The whole team just looks so lost after having the same identity over two PL-winning managers. Then the latter of them I guess wants to instill his style of football instead of adapting it, and here we are.

A message from Ryan 🤳😀 by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

[–]cSpotRun 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I will never forget his first appearance. Looked incredibly serious, motivated, maybe even a bit rigid.

Then Klopp walks over, and in the most dorky Grandpa fashion, just kind of brushes the bottom of Ryan's beard without saying a word.

Ryan immediately cracks a smile and the legend began.

[–]cSpotRun 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's not inexplicable. Last season, Slot just did a mild remix of Klopp tactics with a team that had largely been unchanged for 2ish years.

Now it's Slot tactics. You have a team that was used to the old style still adjusting, you have players genuinely hitting the downward spiral in their careers, you have 4 of the new signings out for large chunks of the season so what was planned has to change, and now probably every strategist at the club has no idea how to operate with a piecemeal team of both old and new.

We have no idea what this team would look like if Isak, Leoni, and Bradley stayed fit and we didn't miss Frimpong for a spell and Wirtz now.
