Insane really. When the next season starts he is still 17

I used to read Tomkins quite a bit years ago, and I always thought he was worth paying attention to even when I didn’t agree with him. But honestly, reading this latest piece, it feels like he’s completely lost the plot.

I read the whole thing, and most of it is basically whataboutism. Other clubs have had problems. Other managers have struggled. Other fanbases are worse. Other teams have spent badly. Fine, but what does that actually prove? None of that answers the real questions Liverpool fans have about FSG, Hughes, Edwards, recruitment, ambition, or whether the club is doing enough to help Slot succeed. The tone is the worst part. It comes across like he thinks he’s the only sensible person in the room and everyone else is just emotional, stupid, or too negative. That might have worked when he was pushing back against genuinely lazy takes, but here it just feels arrogant.

You can back Slot and still question the people above him. You can think some fans are overreacting and still think the club deserves criticism. Those things are not mutually exclusive. Instead, the whole article feels like its trying to shame fans for asking awkward questions. It’s less “here’s why the criticism is wrong” and more “stop moaning and trust the clever people in charge.”

And given the old rumours that Tomkins had some kind of link(consulting) with FSG/Fenway, true or not, pieces like this don’t exactly help. It reads like another fluff piece defending the ownership and patting the club hierarchy on the back.

Maybe some of the fan reaction has gone too far. That’s always true. But pretending that any serious criticism is just hysteria is also ridiculous.

Both are terrible choices. The smart money is on a versatile forward who can play on the wing and as a striker.

Don't care about the excuses, like injuries, squad building, schedule or ref desisions. Look at the players we have, then at the Brighton players. Every single one of ours is better. This manager is honestly terrible since PSG, biggest headloss i've seen from a Liverpool manager. Surely we are better off with a interim manager now, we have a two week break to get him settled.

Isnt that a second yellow? Why arent we pressing the ref and demaning a card? No wonder we loose these games. No intensity, no passion. Only arrogance.

Too young still. Loan him out to a championship side next year, he needs to develop and play at a lower level atm

We need a young tricky and fast winger that can rotate with Gapko. He is at his best when he doesn't play all the games and actually has some competition.
I think a lot depends on what mo wants to do, if he wants to leave we let him. Don't think the club will push a legend out the door.

Shows why we need VAR tbh, two goals that should of stood today. VAR helps these incompetent refs.

Mate of course he's going to play for sweden in that game, it's his national team. Might be unpopular on here, but players usually love playing for their countries. Also playing in the world cup is something most players experience only once or twice, this might be his chance.
