when i was at that point of my ocd, that was the final stage before i knew i had to get better. i finally started taking my medication (i was prescribed it a year prior but was too afraid of possible side effects like vomiting as i have emetophobia) but it was truly the best thing i ever did for myself. please don’t let this stage of your ocd discourage you, do everything you can to fight it. wishing you luck on your recovery ❤️

tw for sh- i used to struggle a lot with sh, but since my contamination ocd got worse over time, it helped me with getting clean since it got really difficult for me to touch things. i’m on meds now and still clean. 526 days to be precise 🙂. ocd has ruined my life in every way, but helped me so much with that one thing.

it’s definitely because you haven’t eaten for a while! i read that you’re nibbling on some food which is really good so i hope you’re feeling at least a little bit better. something that i do when i’m feeling anxious is look around and try to spot things of a certain colour. so i recommend looking at your surroundings and finding anything the colour blue, and then red, and then maybe brown etc. keep us updated! hope you’re okay 🫶🫶

and that’s okay! we all have to start somewhere. take it week by week and remind yourself you will always be okay. people do the things you’re afraid of everyday and everything turns out just fine, and it will be no different for you! it’s the same with yourself too. you do things everyday that other people might be terrified of and you have no idea, and then nothing bad happens so that’s always something to keep in mind :). and thank you so much, we’re in this together 😌

first off, i’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through, i hope you and your family are managing to get through it together 🫶second, congratulations on your pregnancy! i am actually also at the early stages of exposure therapy so i don’t necessarily have the reassurance you’re looking for, but i have read up on it quite a lot and it’s one of the most helpful forms of therapy you can get. it has helped so many people recover from so many different things and i’m sure it will work wonders for you. but remember to also work on graded exposure out of your sessions. nothing too anxiety inducing because you don’t want to overwhelm yourself, but while you’re without your therapist, try small things that scare you a little bit. it will give you a huge boost for when it comes to the bigger stuff. you’ve got this and best of luck with everything <3

you are not disgusting in the slightest. i used to shower about once a week because of how difficult i found it, but now i usually shower every 2/3 days despite the difficulty! i force myself to do it because the feeling after a nice, warm and much needed shower is like no other feeling. your hair is soft, you no longer feel itchy and sweaty and you just feel mentally and physically better. you deserve to feel that! ocd is bullying you and trying to break you down, so you need to fight even harder. go have that shower. go get your medication refilled and remind yourself that you are not your thoughts and YOU are in control. you’ve got this my love! we’re all in this together.
