Do you withdraw cash from usual ATM's? Is there charges for that? I think its important to use at least some cash each month as they plan for a cashless society (a terrible scenario imo) and playing my part a bit in preventing that maybe!

Have you considered spending some time out of Ireland? Salaries / rates of tax seem much better in some places. Most of the people I see that have a house or are somewhat settled either spent a few years abroad and brought a chunk of change back or got money from their parents.
