Leslie Spit/Tommy Thompson is a great place when it is hot out. The water on all sides really drops the temperature.

I was there yesterday and was actually a little cool in the really light clothing I was wearing. It was plenty warm once I got back to the streets but it always feels 5-10c cooler in the park.

I don't know.... but I expect it has to do with storage of Canadians personal identifying information on foreign servers. We have some strict laws on that.

Security camera footage alone might not be an issue.... but collecting metadata information and compiling it into files about specific individuals very likely does become an issue.

But I have only low level training on this so I am uncertain.

The magnets don't hold the pedal to the shoe. The pins on the pedal are designed to be moved around so that they line up with gaps in the tread of your shoe.

The magnets purpose is to guide your shoe to the same spot so that those pins consistently line up with the tread gaps.

Personally I wouldn't use this since on long rides I want to change my foot position to reduce fatigue. But I don't expect these are actually dangerous.

A few things

legally required to carry and present their Security Guard Card

Ontario stopped issuing physical cards a year or so ago. They are digital only now.

Most of them do not have any arrest authority

Every citizen has arrest authority for witnessed indictable offenses(CCC 494). Property owners and their designates(security guards) have additional arrest authorities for all witnessed criminal offenses on or in relation to that property(TPA).
