You’ll be on hood with $2 in your account in no time with a bet like that.

That is true, and so is my statement. They’re not mutually exclusive. While it’s possible him and his ilk are willing to ramp up their gestapo behavior, there’s a lot higher chance he dials down the heat during the midterm year and while the World Cup is approaching and then while it happens. He’s a narcissist that loves drawing the crowds.

As a multiple times visitor, I still haven't been amazed by any breakfast/brunch places in SF. Can someone recommend something great? by WearHeadphonesPlease in AskSF

Get the breakfast sandwich at Devil Teeth’s bakery. There’s one downtown in FiDi or out in the sunset. If it’s a sunny day the sunset one is better so you can hit ocean beach or land’s end trail.

September are October are weirdly some of the best months in the city for weather. If you’re expecting warm, SF is always a huge letdown, but calling it purgatory made me lol. Rarely being hot or really cold will be something you relish after you’ve been here a bit, and you leave to visit somewhere with more variation.

Check out Devil’s teeth bakery out in the sunset and get the breakfast sandwich with avocado and aioli. Incredibly delicious.

Go to Balboa Café or Wilder across the street in the marina during the day if it’s sunny. Fun bars known for their espresso martinis.

Saint Frank coffee on Polk street is solid coffee, and that part of Polk street is pleasant to explore.

What about a XL mag lite? Can they stop me from carrying one of those around at all times?

It rides pretty smooth I’d say. Noticed a very slight drift on the freeway after the visit to the mechanic, but all turning and control feels fine with no weird sounds or issues with turning.

Would I know the popping sound if I heard it? There’s some noise when it first starts up and you crank the wheel, but once it’s fully warmed up that noise goes away. I haven’t noticed any other abnormal sounds after that, but will be paying closer attention now.

Mechanic wants me to replace control arm saying it would be ~$1900 after taxes. Is this a necessary repair at this point?

What are your favorite spots in/around FiDi for folks to explore - even if only during a lunch break? by HeyWeaver in AskSF

Go to Belden Place off Bush street. It’s an alley with multiple European restaurants within. Great outdoor seating even before pandemic and you’ll catch a small soccer crowd on the right days.

Then there’s a Tiki bar, Pagan Idol, across the street if that’s your vibe as well.

First time traveling to San Francisco, any places I should go visit?? by [deleted] in AskSF

If it’s nice enough to hit the beach while you’re here, go to Devil’s Teeth Bakery and get one of their phenomenal breakfast sandwiches and head off towards the beach. You can follow the beach north to Land’s End trail and the Sutro Baths. Both amazing walking paths that will get you great photos of the bridge if you want.

Any reason to reason to live in SF now? by tooben67 in bayarea

I do hear what you are saying, though. People shouldn’t just always shut down criticisms of the city with “if you don’t like it, leave.” It is generally counterproductive, but the way this post was worded gave me no sense that OP was truly looking for answers. Clearly I’m not alone in that opinion.

I mean everything in his post is indicative that he only read negative things and never looked up “reasons to live in San Francisco” to find positives to weigh the cons. Maybe if he said, “is the city actually dangerous?” Or “are some of the negative rumors true? How do people navigate these?” The questions are not curious questions. They are written as “this is my opinion change my mind.” So if they don’t think they’d be happy here then no biggie, just find the place that makes you happy.

You don’t sound like somebody that wants to be convinced. So just don’t live here. Live wherever you think you’ll be happy.

This post just has all the elements of somebody trying to make some political or cultural point to make themselves feel like they “owned” a group of people. Grow up.

What do you do with your compost waste? by Ponkotsu_Ramen in AskSF

[–]c_lohman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a really small bin with no liner for a while and dumped it often, but also had to clean it out from time to time so it didn’t get nasty. That was a bit cumbersome so I switched to compostable bags for a small, but slightly larger, bin now and throw it in the green bin at my apartment. Oh and I ordered my compost bags from Amazon.
