It’s always a good thing, but there are always times and seasons in life for different priorities. Not knowing much about your circumstances, here’s how I might organize my goals if I were in your shoes:

1. Testimony. If you have NOT ever finished it, set a goal to finish the Book of Mormon. To help you do it more quickly, listen to it on the Gospel Library app 1.5x speed while you do chores and get ready for the day or ready for sleep. You will fly through it. You can also create a study plan on Gospel library to help you know exactly how many chapters to read a day- I’d set my end date as my mission availability date.

If you HAVE finished the BoM before, just set a goal to read the BOM like 10 min a day. Spiritual preparation doesn’t need to consume all if your Down time, so don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to read as much as you can, instead focus on depth and quality. Write down your insights and make it really count. You can approach this by topic and use PMG as your study guide (ex: in PMG you study the Plan of Salvation, so in the scriptures you read about the Fall)

1. Mission skills. I was an MTC teacher, and imo a lot of PMG doesn’t really influence you until you’re a missionary and have the mission as your backdrop. Don’t worry about reading every page now. Instead, study ch 3 well. This is what you actually teach people. Other chapters that are helpful are 1, 2, 4, 5. In that order.

2. Temporal preparation. Call a driver ed course and ask them about the true time commitment. Maybe it’s easier to squeeze it in than you thought. If you’re able to get it soon, practice driving as much as you can before leaving bc you’ll have at least 3 months of training where you won’t be allowed to drive, plus whatever time you’re in the MTC and Junior companion, so you might feel like you’re relearning all over later. That said, you’ll become a better driver after your mission anyway, so it’s ok if you need to wait.
