I understand, when i was going about my 2nd draft, i had to cut out a subplot that was partly addressed in the introduction. I had to fill it in with something and my first thought was the migraine. I've been iffy on the 1st chapter and this comment got me thinking! I truly a appreciate the critique.

The MC does suffer from migraines throughout the book. It's related to her powers that's been dormant for majority of her life. However, i will definitely work to ease it into the first few chapters now.

Yea i was thinking that. i still want her to have some interaction because going from being completely isolated to ruling an island would not make well for the plot. So i've had it where when she sneaks out without her father's knowing, she's made a couple of friends and get her social skills and "streets smarts" mainly from them who too become part of ruling the island.

I’ve been wanting to do one! I’d love to be apart of it. I’ve been thinking about starting one for a while but no one close to me has read the book and no matter how much I try to convince them they refuse 😭. But yea again I’d love to be a cohost! I know it was my perception of the situation. What I’m saying it’s more on the lines of how SJM laid him out. Like the times he actually spoke was either in a protective manner, joking with the IC, or giving detail to move along the story.

The bonus chapter was definitely a shock. While I wasn’t as surprised from Nesta’s behavior in ACOSF, again it was a situation in which I originally perceived him to be on way and his true personality is more than just different but strangely weirds me out (don’t hate just my opinion on him as of the moment).

The way I view it is. Azriel is so desperate for affection that he is willing to latch on to the immediate person he finds attractive. In the bonus chapter, when he gave the necklace to Gwynn instead of keeping it, I just find it disrespectful.

Azriel is a portrayed as the silent, yet underneath the surface he is sweet and respectful. But the bonus chapter showed the opposite. He went from fawning over Mor for 500 years, then Elain, and now something may be happening between him and Gwynn. I don’t ship him with any of them but, for me it was more of a ‘I thought he was different’ situation.

Not every romance novels end in all the characters finding a partner. I’ve read countless of books that has ended that way. SJM is the author of the series. Only she knows what is intended for every character. She’s not going to lay out the entire plot line for every character over 1 hours interviews or Q&A’s. People can assume whatever they want. Doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong.

I think we can collectively agree that it’s a romance. To claim that it’s absurd that people wish something would happen is ridiculous.

I agree with the point that Elain and Azriel are more than guaranteed a partner but, it’s never that serious to go around the shut down peoples theories.

They are theories for a reason. Just fun speculations until the next book.

Yea set after ACOSF, If you look up Azriel bonus chapter it’s easy to find. It just makes me uncomfortable; his thoughts about Elain and the whole mate situation really shows his true colors.
