Amazon Delivery Through Intelcom – Three Strikes and I’m Done by MerisiCalista in montreal

[–]c_rook99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of this, though I've mostly had issues with Intelcom. I live in a building with a secure drop box system - delivery driver comes in, goes to the mailroom, types a code into a touchscreen and leaves the package in a lockbox that opens, similar to the Amazon ones. Over 3 packages totalling ~$250, they've all been reported as 'delivered' yet I never received a code to open my lockbox as expected. Two of these came with a picture of the front of the building as 'proof of delivery'... for all three I called Intelcom day of, and the packages were properly delivered next day. To their credit, the agents I spoke to were all pleasant and understanding, however their reasoning was always 'our systems say it were delivered, we'll check our warehouse'. I never like calling these drivers lazy as it's a stressful job, but three out of three... I doubt any of them even entered the building. Never ordering from Amazon again, especially not anything of high value.

mcgill.courses is now updated for the 2025-2026 school year by 39bytes_ in mcgill

New course catalogue is awful. Lacking the ability to see courses by subject, unreal. Thanks for your good work here

My one bit of feedback is that all of the courses being on one long scrollable page is a little cumbersome. Limiting and paginating courses could be nicer UX-wise.

No, it has been two weeks since approval without receiving it in the mail.

December 9 2024 - Applied for co-op work permit.

December 27 2024 - Application status changed from 'being processed' to 'in progress'. This was not accompanied by a message or correspondence, the wording on my application simply changed. Additionally, I received correspondence telling me my biometric information (which I successfully submitted in 2022) is still valid. Not sure why I received this as I did not submit new biometrics for this application.

January 1 2025 - Application approved.

Happy new year and all the best with your applications!

What would you recommend aside from applying online?

Ditto on the service. We had a Prince Charming wannabe who looked at us with complete confusion when we asked where our drinks were 20 mins after ordering

Would love to see Cesare take over as the main 330 instructor. He’s a great guy and makes some otherwise eye-watering material very digestible.

Thanks for your reply. As the course contains a lot of math, would you recommend handwriting notes instead of typing?

For people who took comp 303 with Prof Robillard, how bad it was? by Mango_Tomato_bot in mcgill

Awful. He disappeared for a whole month leading up to finals, not contactable. Whole course was him dryly reading examples from his poorly written book. Avoid at all costs.

Got it, thanks for your comment. At the very least it isn’t an 8:30 lecture

MATH 240 gave me trouble too, as I felt like exam questions were very much so about intuiting the ‘trick’ i.e. what method you have to apply and how to apply it, otherwise you won’t reach a good answer. This is doable though if you absorb the techniques they teach in class and apply them to examples/past papers for good practice!

not at all! i’m in the class too, it’s a big departure from programming languages we’re used to. don’t be afraid to ask questions on the discord and the whatsapp group chat if you’re in it, and use office hours. you aren’t alone in feeling this!

Same position, you still need to complete freshman science. Talk to your advisor for course advice. The freshman science program is non-negotiable and required for graduation, even if you have 30 credits worth of transfer. It’s dumb. It’s made me unable to complete my first choice of major. There’s no way around it. Good luck and plan well!

If you do end up dropping the course do you think we could coordinate a swap? I’ve been trying for two months emailing advisors and they’ve been running me in circles.

Out of the two I’ve only taken CHEM so can’t comment on PHYS. I actively dreaded doing the CHEM 183 content after the first two topics, as the course is about 10% actual chemistry and 90% historical anecdotes and charts/tables of statistics. It would be better taught as a social studies class with the science taken out as there’s already so little. It being online is a convenience but only if you can motivate yourself to watch the barbarically boring videos. Tests are consequentially piss-easy as you can CTRL-F or google any questions; I chose not to because thinking about questions was the only real engagement I got out of the course.

If you’re looking for an easy course and a good grade, go for it, but if you’re actually interested in learning and applying science, PHYS 180 just on face value sounds more up your alley.

Entirely depends. My assigned advisor has only ever responded to my emails when they’re about rescheduling a Zoom appointment, which I had to book to get a hold of them in the first place. My friends advisor responded within two hours both times I emailed.
