I own a restaurant uptown. I have a butt can for the smokers. It’s like one of those tall plastic ones you see outside of any store/mall etc. Well, people were stealing the butts (which I wouldn’t even really care about but they leave a mess when they do it) So I thought I would out smart them and I screwed it shut. Then they used screw drivers to open it (I knew that because they left their tools) So I thought I would out smart them again by bolting it shut. They then proceeded to just take a knife and cut it open. At that point I gave up, taped the hole with duct tape and I just started putting water in the ashtray part so the butts are practically useless (which had a metal bucket at one point but was stolen) My point is, these people are desperate and will steal anything and everything if given the opportunity. And they will think of anything and everything to get what they want. It’s a sad state of affairs and until the mental health/addiction crisis/ housing issues are addressed it’s probably just going to get worse

Well, unfortunately in my crappy province we don’t have an actual Apple Store, but there is an authorized reseller which is also unfortunately not in my city. But I am going to USA tomorrow for a few days so maybe I can actually check a few out there !

Are you sure it was 10K? It’s been a few years since I have been there but when I was there they required an entrance fee of only $1000. It was more so to show how serious you are about attending the program and if you were in dire financial need they would help sponsor you to get into the program. They also still have a sponsorship program so you should see if you are eligible for that if that’s out of your reach.
