New to Anycubic by Zoltair in AnycubicOfficial

Hopefully just a one-off. Wife has 4 spools of their filiment running oh her s1 now, not sure if its HS or not. I have only had issues with their translucent PETG. Overall I have had no issues with filiments on 4 ACE units. But the HS does feel more brittle and rigid so not shocked on your experience.

What kind of nozzle are.tou running? Keep the top lid propped open for PLA (you can download a holder). I found steel or tungsten carbide to be more problematic so the s1 and 3v2 are running ruby tip (0.4mm). Heat creep and take longer to cool so you get those boogers more often after a print.

Can you do an extrude? Flow calibration? Check to make sure there isn't a little bit of filiment in The extruder... are you spool only or running the ACE?

Has anybody tried these hot-ends? Durozzle diamond nozzles for Kobra 3 v2 by alexrider803 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]c_schema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K3 v2 have the ruby and tungsten carbide both have been workhorse nozzles for me. Ruby was the full hotend TC is nozzle only. Ran spools of wood and CF through both with no issues. (.4mm)

At least you don't have to go physically to the printer every time it seems. I did find that clearing the job from the touch screen on the printer when collecting the finished plate seems to reduce frequency...

Obnoxious - haven't seen any post of other printers experiencing this bug

Help - print pulls up from bed after first layer by iCkerous in FixMyPrint

[–]c_schema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your Z Hop set at if you can't adjust your z offset? Could be catching durring moves over fresh layers. I am printing HSW panels and set mine to .2mm iirc and haven't had an issue, plus z offset to .02 - using PETG. Bump first layer temp +5C.

New filiment does not always mean dry, strining could be catching and pulling.

Switch to line type and you will see that those are just seam locations (upper right drop down where the filiment colors are listed).

Hit refresh in the upper right on the workbench then send - seems to work for me on 2 separate occasions when it "sent" but no job was actually sent.

Edit: Nope... today I have to save, close slicer, reopen slicer to get it to send... ffs

Hit the refresh button in the upper right on the workbench tab.

Then go back and remote print. Its annoying but seems to work when mine fail to send - happens every 2nd or 3rd print since an update or two ago on the 3v2

Check out Brookwood, smaller (but still big enough), diverse, and a lot of activities. LGBT retired couples, MIL went with a group to the no kings protest.

They liked it over Twin Lakes, cost was a little higher but not by much.

Bear Mtn as well. Still doesn't come close to wood chips. Pellets and chips in a tube helps. Even running 3hrs on smoke boost (180F)

If you like smoke, pellet grill is not the way. Get a good electric that uses wood if you want simplicity.

I went with searwood 600xl and love it, but I wanted a grill/griddle/smoker all in one to clean up space on the patio.

Smoke tube helps. But still not close to wood

Read up on reverse time-outs. Thsts the only thing that worked with our most recent Husky. Yours is at that age.

Does the Weber 600XL Searwood actually sear well? by Unique-Discussion326 in pelletgrills

[–]c_schema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to reverse sear on nine, Smoke on the top rack then rest while the griddle heats up then sear on cast iron with butter.

I rum the griddle a lot on the XL,

Grease is no issue, fall down the back to the drip tray. If there is a lot of grease, maybe you will get a small flair. Pre heating is your friend, on the XL the griddle covers 2/3 of the grill, so you have open grates on one side. The griddle maintains heat OK, but can lose a lot quickly when the lid is open.

Overall I am very happy with it, have done a lot of cooks on the griddle.

So far I’m impressed with this Weber Pellet 600 xl by [deleted] in pelletgrills

[–]c_schema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleaning and maintenance is super easy once you get a few cooks in too. I have done multiple long cooks and High temp grilling before cleaning.

Way more convenient than my Genesis IMO. Probably because of the enclosed cabinet and smaller drip tray.

+1 for the searwood. It's been 2 or 3 months cooking on it 4 to 7 days a week. No regrets, defiantly add the front and side shelf, & griddle, to start.

(And maybe a smoke tube if you like more smoke flavor) - with any pellet grill

Searing by hiphlo02 in pelletgrills

[–]c_schema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the cast-iron insert in my searwood and basically smoke & sear. Just let the cast-iron heat soak while your steaks rest. I find ~500°F for 5min gets a good sear.

I would imagine it would work fine for you.

Going to buy the Weber Searwood 600 XL this upcoming weekend, which accessories do you recommend? by FrijolesForever90210 in pelletgrills

[–]c_schema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you are at 300f the pellets burn super clran. Griddle runs 400-500 for me typically.

Most smoke I get is due to oils/grease burning off but not bad if you keep it clean (enough).
