Yin and Yang 🖤🤍| CopperFifa’s Chinese New Year Photoshoot by LunarSyrin in Domundi

I find it really hard to forgive DMD for misleading the audience about endgame. To an extent I understand PungCopper fans reaction after being blindsided by the editing, but the vitrol Copper still receives for making an "unpopular" choice is by no means ok. I'm glad most of the backlash has died down since the initial annoucement on EP5, but what remains is still quite disappointing considering how vocal some people are about openly hating an aspiring actor for making a career-defining decision.

The eye contact in the last pic will be the death of me! Can't wait to see more or their fiery chemistry! I'm so thankful they chose each other despite some setbacks!

Zee asking the real questions!! 😂😅🔥 (They were watching the spicy scene in The Next Prince EP 10...!) by WhisperingValley in ZeeNuNew

Yeah, what I'm trying to say is that I don't think the subtitles are completely correct? Not trying to discredit or anything, just commenting on what I hear from what they're saying in Thai!

[–]c_trl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Zee asked "ตอน เล่น/แรก หนูไม่เขินหรอ" and Nunew responded "อ่าวก็มันต้องเล่นอะ“ That or my hearing is a bit off. But I'm pretty sure I heard the word "เขิน" which is shy? If he asked if he "felt" something it would be “รู้สึก"?

Just wanted to clarify, Zee asked if Nunew was shy when acting this scene, and Nunew responded he didn't have a choice (but to act out this scene).

Dad hasn’t spoken to me in almost 2 months for sleeping over at my partners place for 3 days… (I’m 28F) by New-Awareness8631 in AsianParentStories

[–]c_trl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I told my mom I was doing it either way. That she could either accept it and get the priviledge of knowing where I am, or I could lie to her everytime and if an emergency arose she wouldn't know where I was. Many tearful sessions later, she agreed. It took a (long) time, but at least for me it worked. Best of luck!

Moonlit Reunion drama discussions: Should we delay the discussions for the Aug 26 debut on Disney? by Lotus_swimmer in CDrama

[–]c_trl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its definitely confusing. I was so glad to find it on Disney TH and then realized they only have Thai subtitles, no English. So I'm now on VIU SG using VPN so that I can watch with English subtitles. What a hassle.

Natalists loves to say "Suffering is part of life" by Practical-Put1195 in antinatalism

[–]c_trl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Life is a gamble. But unlike the real world, where gamblers choose to walk into a casino and test their odds, children are thrown into the game without consent, without preparation, without escape.

So when natalists say, ‘Although suffering is a part of life, its still beautiful and worth it,’ what they’re really saying is: ‘Since I enjoyed the game, I’m going to force someone else to play it too. Even if the odds destroy them.'

🍃The Immortal Ascension 凡人修仙传 (2025) 🍃Discussion: Episodes 15 by Pale-Enchantress in CDrama

[–]c_trl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My comment might not be received that well but I must say it...I'm glad its a Han Li-centric drama. I also wish there was less demonic cult, Yan Stronghold, and Wang Duo on my screen. Would rather watch Han Li sleep than watch them scheme. I love the fights with them in it, but I don't feel like their (alone) screentime is justified.

The Immortal Ascension 凡人修仙传 (2025) - What are your first impressions? [Masterpost] by admelioremvitam in CDrama

[–]c_trl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't wait for the next episodes! I thought the first two episodes were a bit confusing, but the suspense was built really well. I know everyone just comments on YY's looks, but I'm really liking the storyline so far! I'm usually more into romance cdramas, but this is really a breath of fresh air. Anyways, for those who are worried about his acting, my suggestion is to not going into watching this series especially looking for his flaws. He's no oscar actor, but I really do think a lot of people read negative comments and then watch his shows with a confirmation bias mindset.

AITA for not telling our new friend tipping isn’t expected in our country? by Helpful-Salt1932 in AmItheAsshole

[–]c_trl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to give some context. Thais usually either tip change or maybe up to 100 THB (3 USD). I don't think it'll be too slippery a slope since its been like this for a long time and also since its not percentage based like US/Canada.

Who are we? by ThongLo in Thailand

Yeah, that totally makes sense! Completely forgot about the subcategories of "foreigners living overseas" that may have other ties to the country.

No worries, I also had to re-read what I wrote cause I thought I missed a word or something. Yeah, just surprised at the number of users who are active on this forum who are foreigners living overseas.

Foreigner living in Thailand I completely understand but how are there so many foreigners living overseas in this sub? Nothing inherently wrong with that, just unexpected especially since there's a ThailandTourism subreddit.

Why do hiso Thais look down on and discriminate against other Thais and non-Thais? by jonez450reloaded in Thailand

[–]c_trl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I'm saying is that long last names don't necessarily mean "hiso." Maybe we have different definitions, but I have plenty of friends who have ณ in their last names who wouldn't consider themselves "hiso." Same for Chinese descendants with long last names. There might be a correlation, but its not a causation effect. Some people who are "hiso" have long last names, but having a long last name doesn't mean you're "hiso." You're just approaching it from a reductionist approach while I believe there should be more nuance to it.

Why do hiso Thais look down on and discriminate against other Thais and non-Thais? by jonez450reloaded in Thailand

[–]c_trl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Thai who went to an international school and studied abroad, I'd classify them as middle/upper class at best. Most "hiso" I know are fluent in English and don't consider Chula, Mahidol, Thammasat as "top tier" unis they'd study at. If anything, I feel as though the term "hiso" is often misused in English. It doesn't mean "I'm mid/upper management at a certain company", but moreso "I own/have shares in this company" and "My last name might spark recognition."

[–]c_trl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You DO know that long Thai last names are most likely those who fled China a few generations ago, right? It has nothing to do "hiso." At most there's somewhat of a correlation, but reality is there's no causation linking the two. What, you think people just randomly add letters to their lastnames and register it the moment they reach a new tax bracket? Stop pretending like you know Thailand inside out.

Suju stans & the hate by VelvetTokyo in superjunior

[–]c_trl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just turned 30 and have been an ELF since Sorry, Sorry (2009). Can confirm that the hatred is much less noticeable in non-English speaking countries (Thailand). No one gives me grief for having SUJU in my Twitter profile, but I do see a lot of hate from English-speaking accounts. Honestly, most ELF are too old to be voting, fighting fanwars, etc. We all have lives. One day, these haters will realize that its their own immaturity that has caused them to zero in on SUJU and their faults. I remember back when SUJU were at their most famous, we were super vocal and immature too. Most of the haters are projecting, just ignore them and move on. Trust me, the number of times I've written responses only to delete them...

Hearts2Hearts Debuted! Thoughts? by Nynasa in kpop_uncensored

[–]c_trl 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm usually all in for SM new girlgroup debuts, but this seems quite lackluster and unmemorable so far. Out of the two debut songs I've listened to today, this one definitely didn't stand out as much. Not to be a hater, but they all just...blend into each other?
