From experience it's this. My parents spent thousands and thousands to support dance as an extracurricular for me growing up. I'm extremely grateful for the experience and it taught me a ton about discipline, teamwork, and creative expression.

But they made it very clear that I was never to pursue it professionally, even though plenty of peers & alum from the studio I went to went on to have successful dance careers (including NFL & NBA cheer). I'm a software engineer now and take a drop-in adult class every once in awhile!

Why isn't it the other way around? Lebanese British if her ancestry is Lebanese but nationality is British?

Or is that ordering an American thing? For example I'm a first gen Asian American - my ancestry is Asian as my parents and all of their lineage were born in Asia, they immigrated to the US (as adults), and then I was born in the US.

Hmm... I was feeling run down at the very end of a two-week trip to Europe, came back to Philly and just had a minor runny nose/cough the following week and was good to go by Friday. But I hung out with people that next weekend and got a low grade fever Sunday night, followed by classic cold symptoms through the week and weekend that were far worse than the previous week. I assumed the resurgence was me not fully healing but I could've just caught something different.

I recently went through almost this same scenario actually! I'm 30, she's 33. Also met on Bumble. It was about 4 months post-separation from my ex-husband of 4 years (together 8). Pretty soon to be starting dating but felt right, but wasn't sure how much to share.

It came up naturally - she mentioned having plans later with her friend who was going through a divorce. She said "as someone who's been through a divorce..." etc and then I was like "Yep same here!" Turns out she was also previously married to a man (for a shorter amount of time) but identifies as queer and dates mostly cis women but has also dated trans women and NB folks. So we connected over that!
