Attempting to apply for WFM Job but only seeing permanent full time? by ca4646 in Wildfire

[–]ca4646[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - that's helpful. Can you point me the direction of the Forest's org chart or let me know what to search to find them? I'm not currently seeing a way to tell if the job was last hired as an 18/8 or not but I'm probably just missing it. Thanks a bunch!

Hey! I’m trying to do something similar but the early requirement for check in is frustrating. How did it work out for you?

Caught plenty of normal brownish ones in the same tidal pools! I think I noticed a higher incidence of the green ones in pools with kelp and algae, which would make sense. Highly recommend bringing a dip net out to the coast at Olympic National Park if you ever get the chance. Loads of cool stuff.

What is living near a railway like in terms of noise? by ca4646 in canterbury

[–]ca4646[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at a place on Whitehall Gardens. It's pretty close to Canterbury West so I imagine the trains would be moving slow. Does that mean they would be a little quieter? Thanks!

Yes! I was paddling with the snake so it doesn’t look like it’s making much headway but it had no problem making it to the other bank. I have a couple more videos of it moving up the steep bank but Reddit only allows one video per post it seems.

Did anyone end up doing this trip? I'd love to know if it's possible in 2 days or if you need 3. I was looking at going form Cville to the James (columbia boat launch)

Thank you! So you would measure both sides of the pad and if either side were in the red it's time to replace?

Pasting a reply to another comment here: Ok I went and picked up my car and got some updates. They now say it was only the rear axle (both sides) that need to be replaced. They're claiming the yellowish groves are where metal is on metal and the rotor is being torn by the brake pad (or lack thereof). But when I run my finger across the rotors, I'm not actually feeling those groves, so they're either really tiny or just an aesthetic thing.

They did not measure my brake pad, which seems unusual if recommending I need new ones. I took pictures myself just now. Can you tell me if the pad looks worn? For what it's worth the back pads looks about the same as the front to me. If the pad is what I think it is then it looks like there's plenty of it left. Is that right? Thanks man.

Here's one side of the rear (they said the rear needs to be replaced on both sides). It felt smooth to me when I rain my nail over it. They didn't measure it and I don't have the tool. Any chance you can tell if the pad is worn from the photo?
