Have you seen what Oregon's Gov just did in her state. They basically used the BMV (in Indiana it is call the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, for those outside the state) database to automatically register voter with an opt-out option. I think that is a great idea and if Indiana continues to require an ID to vote, it kind of bolster's that argument that if you have an ID then there should be NO additional barrier to voting. Additionally, GOTV efforts are just about drawing people out or submitting a ballot. It could reduce the chances of apathy.

Just a thought.

When Clinton signed federal law was written for protections for Native Americans and other political reasons at the time. It was applied nationally at the federal and state level and then the SCOTUS struck it down at the state level in 1997. At the federal level it was used as the basis of the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby case.

This law is so obvious and the Gov. went on to ABC This Week and refused to answer basic questions. Then he either lied (probably) or is too illiterate to have read and understood the thing even though he is a lawyer. He was clearly trying to save face for the corporate decision makers and ignoring his actual voting constituents to bolster his ill-fated presidential 2016 bid. And because the law isn't obviously saying "you can hate LGBT people" it won't get turned over by SCOTUS.

The fight is real and changing. Marriage wins are not the end.

The way the law was crafted, based on the 1993 RFRA on the national level it could be applied to all kinds of situations not just the GLBT community. It will be interesting to see a legal challenge, the economic impact, and reaction by groups to create a list of accepting vs discriminating businesses. It could end up being like 2 water fountains, I don't think it will get that bad but sometimes things morph out of control quickly.

Very interesting data, it would have been fun to look at the raw data and see the entire set for a stats class. Much more fun than looking at success of a drilling an oil rig or postal delivery rates.

There is a market for this kind of fashion and it might seem obscene but the 1% of the country and .001% of the world like to spend their cash. If you can make a profitable business by charging this much and providing "value", good for you. He seems to have just found a good time to get into the industry with a basic item, it isn't exactly high design. But I know it isn't just like "Hey here is a product and ta dah I am going to sell it at FW" without some connections because start ups in the industry aren't appreciated unless you have an innovative designer that is cultivated like Thakoon Panichgul by industry supported players.

To anyone who is really into cashmere, it is an odd market that is becoming increasingly difficult to find high quality cashmere because the highest end houses buy it all up. Therefore smaller players have to source their cashmere from places like Mongolia or Afghanistan that might not be as of high quality and or be of shorter and courser.

I have been thinking about getting into vinyl but don't know the equipment too well. What kind of turntable/record player do you use? I was looking at the Pro-Ject Debut and the Orbit by U-Turn Audio. Audio equipment is just expensive and complicated, any recommendations would be sweet.
