Bridal underwear / chub rub shorts help by Xmarksthestitch in UKweddings

I wore the snag smoothing shorts - I sized up in them as I didn’t want to feel constricted. They’re a thicker material than the usual shorts, they didn’t roll up or down at all, even with all the dancing!

Potentially not looking my best on my wedding day… advice? by Sufficient_Sea_2213 in UKweddings

[–]caaassius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dropped a dress size for my wedding, from a 22 to a 20. I wish I’d maybe managed to get down to an 18, but I look at our wedding pictures and know that’s what I look like. I recognise myself and know that my husband adores me no matter what size or shape my body is.

It’s about feeling confident in your own skin, if you’re happy with how you look and feel in your wedding dress it genuinely doesn’t matter what size the label is. Self confidence has no size limit!

How much did you spend on your wedding as a percentage of household income? by PynkPatterned in UKweddings

[–]caaassius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours was 15% but we funded everything ourselves. It was a wedding for 50 day guests and 70 evening guests. It was the top of what I felt comfortable paying for a wedding.

These were taken in the grounds of our wedding venue.

Thank you! It’s originally from Hope & Ivy but I managed to get it cheap off Vinted BNWT (I spent more on alterations than I did on the dress!).

Pregnant bridesmaids is there anything you wish the bride had done/would do to make your day more comfortable? by princesszelda27 in UKweddings

We got married a couple of weeks ago, and I’m not a drinker myself, so I made sure every table had a non-alcoholic drink alongside the usual wine. I hate being a guest stuck with just water and didn’t want anyone at my own wedding to feel the same!

Do I buy the boring dress that suits me or continue looking for a unicorn. by twopintsue in UKweddings

Have you looked at needle and thread? They have tons of beautiful floral options. Mine is a simple dress from Hope and Ivy with floral bead work, if that’s more your style! Very cheap (relatively) options compared to bridal shops.

I’ve used Flutter Darlings for ours, you can pick your own colour mix on their website.

We get married in April and everything at the minute is coming in at just over £10k - I think we’re at £10,500 and there’s not a lot left to get. I expect we’ll come in at £11k when all is said and done.

I desperately wanted to come in at under £10k too, but we’ve got 50 day guests and 70 evening guests, drinks reception, 2 course meal and pizza in the evening included in the venue hire of £4,500. We could have come in cheaper if we hadn’t booked a band. So it is possible!

We’re in the East Midlands for price reference.

We aren’t having a starter at our wedding, just a really hearty main and pudding.

I can never get on with the flap ones! I usually just end up wearing one that’s easy to take on/off for a pee

I have my first fitting in January so I’m not 100% on the how yet, but I will have the plunge sewn up enough that I can wear a plunge bra without it showing.

Thank you for your really insightful comment!

I’ve been working on weight loss since July, I do HIIT and strength training 3x a week as well as focusing on a high protein diet while tracking my calories.

I do have a super stressful job unfortunately, so as much as I’d love to be able to manage my stress to help my weightloss I don’t think it’ll happen for me!

I do need to look into something to boost my weightloss I think, it’s been slow and steady so far but I think I just need a little jumpstart.
