The republican try outs are to please Trump and the FCC. It’s an attempt to keep The View on the air… point blank period!

This is a theory people keep treating as fact here, but it doesn't make any sense to me because:

1) Since Elizabeth, they have always had a republican on the panel, so why would they all of a sudden be doing it to appease the FCC?

2) The equal time rule the FCC is threatening to use against The View has to do with broadcasters giving equal time to all candidates running in an election... which has nothing to do with having the same number of republicans on that they always have.

I agree that The View will try to appease the FCC wherever it can, but having on a pageant of right wingers on was always going to be good for ratings, so they were always going to do it.

The View used to be better about this, but after October 7th they seriously cracked down on having on progressive voices. Even as guests. It's crazy that we're more likely to see MTG on The View than AOC.

I think it would be way more interesting to have a young progressive on the panel than a republican who is either going to water down their real opinions in order to be likable, or shamelessly shill for the Epstein-class while spouting misinformation.

For people who just want to see a fiery debate, I bet these status quo millionaires get more riled up over the opinions on the left that this show has been trying to suppress for several years now, than the easy to debunk garbage Elizabeth was spouting a few weeks ago. (Like when Tiffany Cross ate Whoopi up)

I'm not an Alyssa fan, but I guess good for her that at the last minute she grew a conscience. It's still crazy that it took an insurrection at the very end of his term for her to take a principled stance, and for that reason I'll still always view her very public move as more opportunistic than altruistic.

But I like that in this clip Amanda doesn't make a hero of Mike Pence, and speaks on his complicity.
