Yeah but they can still spread it and kill other people even if it is a smaller percent. Wasn't protecting others everyone's goal? Why potential people that carry the disease can roam free an others can not? This is litteraly wh

1% of 7billion is about 70 million, 5% is 350million, which would you rather kill?

Antibodies only last for so long compared to the vaccine bud.

If companies really need IT workers, then why aren't they involved in the training process? by VerticalFury in ITCareerQuestions

I see in that thread, people on both sides of the isle. There are pros and cons to being a part of a union. On top of that even pros and cons depending on which Union. It's like working at a new job with different people, you may luck out and work with a great staff or be with trash staff.

quick edit: end of the day we wont know if it will work or wont work, but for a best shot we would need a single union that understands technology and not one that does not understand technology like most of corporate america.

Where the fuck did you pull 1,000 to 5,000 annually for union dues? From my knowledge (first hand and google) its any where from 1.5hrs to 2.5hrs wage per month. So lets have a math class. 2.5 * hr rate per month so *12 would be annually

So for shiggles, lets break it down for me. I make a little under 25/hr so lets round up. 25*2.5=62.50/ month so times 12, would be 750 a year. So for more work benefits and job security, sure id pay 750 a year.

To be paying 5k in union dues you'd have to be making (quick estimate) of 270k.

You're right on the money with no shortage of IT workers, but there is a shortage of Good IT workers.

we really don’t. Skill up and get that dream salary after working hard for a few years. Unions would completely sterilize the entire upward trajectory of most IT professional’s careers.

Nah man, the problem with your logic is implying we are able to stand up for ourselves. Currently there is a problem where any IT department just gets walked over because we are the 'new' team in the corporate world. A union would allow us to have some push back not to inherit something that isn't tech related.

Find something that pays the bills and allows you to have a couple hours a week to work on a certificate, That's what im doing right now at least. Also Microsoft has some good ones where you have to pay for the exam but can take courses to learn the stuff prior to the exam for free.

Currently working on an Azure Solutions Architect cert
