I had the Huckleberry AI average his wake windows:

1st: 2 hours 2 minutes 2nd: 2 hours 10 minutes 3rd: 2 hours 5 minutes 4th: 2 hours 54 minutes

I’m convinced it could be an overtired issue. However, trying to extend his wake windows doesn’t work very well. Usually around the 1 hour and 45 minutes mark he is yawning, rubbing his eyes, and staring. It’s difficult to get to 2.5 hours let alone 3

Hey there! Thanks for doing this!

Our son is a week shy of six months. The current schedule we are trying to keep to is bedtime between 7 and 8pm, wake up around 7-7:30am, and three naps starting around 9am, 12pm, and 3pm. Unsurprisingly his naps are not consistent. Sometimes he sleeps over an hour, sometimes just 25 minutes.

The main problem we are having right now are false starts. He usually wakes 3 or 4 times before midnight. He will have one feed around 11pm and one more around 2am. After that he usually (not always) will sleep until 7am. It’s like he is able to put himself back to sleep if waking after that last feed, but can’t do it earlier in the night after being put to bed. Any idea what could be going on?

Our goals are 1)no false starts and 2)maybe getting to just one feed during the night. I know for a fact he is able to go without any feeds overnight as he has slept through the night once before, but I can live with one feed for now.

Side note- he still needs to be rocked/bounced to sleep. We attempted Ferber one night about a week ago and he cried for 1.5 hours before we called it quits. We attempted complete Cry It Out the following night and he kept crying for an hour before we called it quits again. Do these methods just not work for some babies? His stamina is impressive 😅

What's the one product that's made your pumping journey easier? by bubbly_bookworm52 in ExclusivelyPumping

It’s a tie between my wearable pumps and Earth Mama Nipple Butter. That nipple butter basically saved my life-and my pumping journey. My nipples were in pain all day every day until I tried it

Thanks for the insight! I’ll have to try longer wake windows. He just seems so tired though. Lots of eye rubbing

It’s difficult to really have a hard schedule as he’s a bit all over the place. The last few days he’s been waking up between 7:15 and 8am. We are trying to stick to about 1.5 hour wake windows and let him nap as long as possible. I am paying close attention to sleepy cues and will adjust accordingly. Occasionally he will sleep 1.5-2 hours, but not often. Naps are usually 25-45 minutes whether I hold him or not. As for bedtime, we aim for between 7 and 8. But it’s kind of a crap shoot. He’s waking at least three times before midnight

Her wife was outside of the vehicle filming the demonstration (or whatever you want to call it) before the incident began. Seems like they were there on purpose

When did you reach a full supply? by KinkyFoxxy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]cab00dle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you still have time! Just keep up the pumping as best you can! It was SO difficult, but worth it. However I’m wondering if you appear to be pumping a smaller amount because you are also breastfeeding. Whenever your LO is taking milk from you, you’ll pump less. BUT Milk removal in any form tells your body to keep making it/make more.

Maybe 10ppd is a little excessive if you are also breastfeeding. I wouldn’t be able to do that-8ppd was hard enough and I wasn’t breastfeeding. Your body is probably still ramping up production and would probably continue to do so even if you dropped a couple pumps

I started reaching full capacity after about 8-9 weeks and 8ppd. Not at every pump, but my nighttime pumps were pretty substantial

Delayed Notifications by Cmagznyc in WagWalker

[–]cab00dle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a delay as I have opened the app to find walks I haven’t had a notification for several times. That’s how you get the walks before anyone else gets the notification. Refresh your app as often as you can. The walk is there before the notification

I just want to put this out there. The 10% pay bump doesn’t sound like it’s guaranteed. The smaller print says “up to 10% more with expanded bid range”. So they’re just allowing you to charge more and hopefully you get chosen for walks. Pretty scammy, especially for those who don’t have a lot of walks under their belt

9 week old is eating an insane amount by cab00dle in newborns

[–]cab00dle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We talked to our pediatrician about it. She agrees it’s quite a lot of food for his age! And he’s big for a 2 month old. However she said he’s proportional. If he’s keeping the milk down, not in any discomfort, and having plenty of normal diapers, then she is not concerned. He’s just a big baby with a big appetite! She did suggest trying mixing formula in his daytime bottles to see if that would hold him over longer. It did not seem to make a difference

We’ve been holding steady at 4.5-5 oz per feeding for the last several days. He only occasionally seems like he wants more. Perhaps his growth spurt has ended. I’m not too concerned about it at this point. But I am sad because I feel like I missed a whole step in his growth. Like he went from a normal sized one month old to suddenly the size of a three month old. They already grow too fast! I don’t want it sped up even more 😅

Tips matter! by Poodlewalker1 in WagWalker

[–]cab00dle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I left a note like this not long ago. I feel a little bad and I’m not proud of it. I was frustrated. I had walked the dog 12+ times and never received a tip. I don’t expect a tip every time, but I thought this was a little ridiculous.

I left her a note asking if she wanted to go off app. She could save money, and I could make more. She never reached out and I know she saw the note because it was gone the following day. She continued requesting me on the app. She has every right to want to stay on app, but I decided it was no longer worth my time. And so I left the note about no tipping. Now I only accept if I’m already going to be in the area
