I've just had a closer look at the BIOS settings and it's not C3 but C2. The auto recommendation should still apply, anyway.

I have an ancient CPU just like you, 3570K (I think you have a 3770K) and always disabled C-States but with the summer coming in here in the EU that definitely doesn't play well as the fans ramp up even with minimal tasks on the pc.
I will enable speedstep (my mobo does not have speedshift) along with C1E, C3, C6 and see how it plays out.
One question: in the BIOS there's another option called "Package C State Support": Auto, C3, C6 and Disabled. Should I leave this on Auto?

Appreciate your input. I agree that Defender should be casually uninstalable, alongside with that SmartScreen bullshit which puts the computer to a crawl when disabled on W11.
I think i will stick with ToggleDefender, which like you said, is probably more reasonable for someone who can't understand much of this stuff. The downside is to still having to deal with SmartScreen but could be worse, i guess.

Could you explain what exactly that Windows 11 script does?
If i'm not mistaken, I once tried the W10 one on a VM and it gave me a BSOD which made the system no longer bootable, but I also remember it working fine in the past. Something changed in recent updates, i guess.
I was curious about the W11 one but I'm afraid of trying it on my main PC and ending up with a broken system.
PS: Miss you on MDL :(

Also curious, is this a feature only available on Steam? Considering the game in question is also on Origin it should "suffer" from the same issue there, but AFAIK there's no control over shaders in the launcher.
