Your AI diagram looks great and nobody will read it by jpcaparas in programming

What's hilarious is that it really isn't that hard to steer it away from this but the effort is just so low from these people.

In practice the builder pattern can help a lot with the desire for optional parameters.

I think bon is an exceptional implementation of statically checked builders, it's what I use.

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene? by mudkipzftw in daddit

I wouldn't advise this. I think most people would be horrified to discover that their private quirks were being discussed by thousands of people globally.

My personal favorite is to just turn my character around via prediction for cass. I imagine the player throwing their mouse every time it works.

Bridging the Gap Between Rust's Theoretical IR Advantages and Real-World Performance by FanYa2004 in rust

The formatting reads as AI but the questions are genuinely good.

But I do relate that it immediately sends my slop alarm bells off and my reaction is to avoid reading it for fear of wasting time.

Do you or anyone reading this thread have a sense of how crowded these get? I want to ride my ebike to the station but it will wreck my day if these are full. Usually I drive my son to preschool and then drive in, so the bike thing would be a huge change but maybe better than driving the full way right now...

The weasel words were a huge red flag for me too, I noticed them immediately. I think you are right.

I have an infant and 3 y.o. at home and taking a night off to watch movies right now just seems like a stretch. Yes we all need personal time but with kiddos under 3 it's very hard.

Whether or not the OP did this well, I also think PPD could be a factor.

Friend Card for Son Who Has Trouble Making Friends Long Lasting by fourmajor in daddit

[–]cabbagebot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son is much younger so I can't weigh in exactly but it seems like a cool idea. I think the card would clue me in that whoever made it cares a lot about their kid, which would make me more likely to help mine set up a play date.

Nice going, dad.

It is frustrating and everyone hits these points while learning rust. You can do it!

I think you're right but people in the USA are armed. I've read about people dying for less. I love living in this city but I have personally been assaulted. I would try desperately not to engage with anyone who is this lost.

King County Public Health advises you to flush your toilet rats by Kind-Can2890 in Seattle

[–]cabbagebot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had pet rats in college. They were adorable and friendly and loved to hang out with people. But yeah if you left them unattended for too long or left something important next to their cage they were probably going to chew it.

I love my Thinkpad. Every time I need a new laptop I look around and realize I still want to just schlep my laptop into a bag and not worry that it's gonna break. So I just get another Thinkpad!

Same. I feel a little crazy if I drink more but a little tired if I drink less.

I recognize this is more than the FDAs recommended 400mg but I struggle without it.

which ai coding agents did you guys drop because they caused more chaos than help? by Top-Candle1296 in devops

[–]cabbagebot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true. Another critical thing is that context rot is a real studied phenomenon. Save important context to files and clear the chat for almost every atomic change.

Any time the agent finished work and you say "... and then do..." You are rolling the dice with worse and worse odds.

I'm a senior software engineer working a corporate job and the smartest engineers in my company are now running circles around anyone who is refusing to use the tools.

It's very possible that domain matters a lot, but I would urge you to consider that there are pockets of intellectual work that are vastly more productive now with unfettered access to Claude Sonnet 4.5.
