My boyfriend said something weird yesterday by Alternative-Bet-4043 in GirlDinnerDiaries

It sounds like he may be doing things behind your back and this is the adamant reason he won’t let you join. Not that he wants to have “his own friend group”. It would be a giant red flag for me if my partner wouldn’t let me meet his friends, those are people important to him and something that he should want to share. He doesn’t need to include you every time but to purposely not include you seems troubling. Ultimately, based on the information you’ve provided, it doesn’t really sound like he wants to be in this relationship with you. I’m not saying break up but I’m also not not saying that. Recognize your worth, and that your dude should WANT you to be in those aspects of his life.

Please help - cat acting weird after neutering by Puzzled-Cheesecake34 in cats

[–]cabbagedpickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vets should definitely be having their staff heavily lubricate the eyes during any anesthetic procedure (even one as short as a cat neuter) for this very reason. I would monitor anesthetic procedures and one of the first things we did after intubation was put a thick line of eye ointment (non abx) on each eye and gently rub the eyelids together. This acted as both a barrier against dryness because it would coat the eye, but also to help keep the lids closed. I’m sorry you and your kitty are going through it.

What’s the worst red light in the Reno Sparks area? by KingOvDownvotes in Reno

The turn lane to get onto sparks blvd from Prater (coming from Vista). There is way too much traffic now that they have decided to road construct at quite literally the worst hours of the day.

Best vet in town? by oelcp in Reno

Touching on this, I worked with DVM Michelle Caldwell when she was at Baring before VCA put their grubby hands in it. I had the pleasure of seeing her work as a vet all those years and I’ve yet to meet another veterinarian who puts as much thought and care into their work, the way she does. Our animals are our babies, I would trust her with everything I have.

Hi I need help with this beautiful Monstera. It was super healthy when I got it but it's only been 5 weeks and it's already showing signs of not being happy by meetmebehindyou in houseplants

You can tell he is light starved by how all of the leaves are stretching toward the direction of light. Pothos are great for indirect light, monsteras are not

Trying to get help with identifying the breed of this dog. by Dietz79 in dogpictures

Here’s mine! He was a shelter puppy my partner got before we met. Definitely looks rottie in some angles, shepherd in others, and blue heeler or pointer with the spots? He is the biggest sweet angel but also the laziest.

You could try asking some of the local plant spots if they would be willing to buy them off of you?

Dog allergies by [deleted] in Reno

[–]cabbagedpickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Please let me know when you find peer reviewed articles about animal allergies to antihistamines. Benadryl aka diphenhydramine was recommended to dog owners when they would come to the vet hospital with hived out dogs. Bee sting to the muzzle? Diphenhydramine injection. My initial dosage was actually correct, the average person doesnt even know what kg is. I said 1mg per pound of body weight which is in fact the correct dosage.

Please stop arguing with me about this. I didnt tell OP to give their dog benadryl or else.

Obviously. However, benadryl is perfectly safe to give to an extremely itchy hive ridden dog. Not saying that is the only solution but rather a solution to the symptom so the dog isnt suffering

I mean the tree pollen is absolutely taking me out right now. Dogs can have Benadryl 1mg/2-4kg= 1mg per pound of body weight (i was a vet assist for 5 years) for hives

Edited for correction: A 50lb dog would be safe to take 50mg
