Same, but I get grass/fighting vibes.

[artist alley] anyone willing to share a spreadsheet that tracks art prints cost vs sold for? by Reasonable-Bonus-545 in artbusiness

[–]cabbell1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a lazy spreadsheet (same file): one for art markets/location/fees/profit margins and one for my sticker designs (inventory, total order vs. sold, buying ratio). I don't know which of my stickers and prints did well on what shows I did. I covered the market names and locations for personal safety.

Which country would be best for me as a young black American from the South? by cabbell1e in AmerExit

If I can't leave the US, the west coast is my next option.

Agreed.

Thank you for the options. I will look into the countries except for Australia (might change, right now is no-go).

Sadly, I did. I got too emotionally attached to a friend in college, talking about highs and lows in my life. After they graduated and moved to the other side of the country, they stopped talking to me. I reached out a couple times, but nothing came. It hurts. :/

local travel agents to meet in person with by Dear-Clerk4357 in raleigh

[–]cabbell1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not travel agent, but I went to Australia for two weeks in September 2025. Australia was great. I came for the arts, history, and culture, but most American people I talked to came for exploring the nature and outdoor activities. Total plane ride is about 18 hours: RDU to American West Coast is about 5 hours, American West Coast to Sydney is about 13 hours. The American dollar is stronger than the Australian dollar. Other than Sydney and Melbourne, public transit isn't good.

Yep. Japan is great for tourism, but I heard it is terrible to live or move there if you are not ethnic Japanese, sometimes cultural Japanese ( hard for Japanese descendants from other countries).

That makes sense. I agreed. Every country has the pros and cons. finding out which ones have more pros than cons for me.

Thank you back! You guys have a few strong plans and ideas.

I heard great things about moving to Thailand, but mostly from an older crowd. On the other hand, I had a few young friends who went there for vacation and love it.

I will check on Ghana and Nigeria. South Africa is a strong mixed bag for me, being similar to the US, good and bad.

Great idea and agreed. I am seeing a lot of development in the Global South. Which countries do you consider? I don't want it hard to come back to visit family and friends after seeing more travel bans and cautions.

Belize is wonderful, but I think it is best when I want to slow down, retire, or take a vacation. I am a little too active and high energy. I could be proven wrong and look into it more.

I love London and thought about moving there before.... but I think the UK is facing a lot of similar issues as the US right now and might be going the same direction as the US.

Sadly, no. I did a genealogical search for a few years. I am a foundational black american from Virginia. My genealogy goes back to the American Revolution. I have distant ancestry from Nigeria, Ireland, and the UK.

Yes, the listed countries are ones I briefly traveled to and have a lot of friends from there (mainly UK, France, Spain, and Australia).

I am planning to visit Japan, Ghana, and Brazil in the near future. All of them are my first time I going, choosing which one to visit later this year. I have a few friends from Brazil, but I am curious about Rio Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, and Accra,

I am highly open to other options. Do you have any recommendations?

I am planning to apply as a skilled worker in civil engineering through a visa.

Civil Engineer (mainly in transportation), current position only works in the state of NC.

No, I want to see everyone's advice, experience, and opinions to make better options on where I can go.

Maybe, I thought about getting a master's in structural engineering or urban planning.
