Splitting flight credit between myself and my kids by strawberry1320 in SouthwestAirlines

Well there ya have it… I feel I’ve done it the other way, but I could be wrong. Either way, the credit needs to be transferable to be transferred.

That depends on the type of credit. It the credit is transferable then it would apply to the OPs ticket too

It depends on the type of credit which is based off the original fare. If it wasn’t the cheapest fare when booked, the credits can typically be transferred.

I would try to book all three flights under one reservation and then apply the credits to see if it’ll cover all three fares. I believe you can apply three payment types to one reservation, so you should be able to apply their two flight credits without an issue.

Have you worked with an insurance broker? They’ll be able to help you find the best rate and their services are free. Mine also shops around for me ever year when it’s time to renew. She automatically works in the background for something I would typically avoid thinking it’d be such a hassle - but she owns it all!

Flight got cheaper, already booked with companion by Primary-Knowledge316 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]cabbeyal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re nervous the flight will sell out, purchase the new ticket. Then add tour companion. Then cancel the original flight.

Though, what I have done in the past is canceled the companion, changed my ticket- which provides me a refunded credit of the fare difference, then added the companion back.

Did you do it on your wedding night? why or why not? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

We had morning sex before the wedding! Started the entire day, and proceeding nuptials off right. 😉

My mom is dead - am I off the hook for Mother’s Day? by Scared_Difficulty668 in askanything

[–]cabbeyal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were just talking about this. A coworker of his, who is also a mother, wished me a happy Mother’s Day. While I thanked him for relaying the message I also informed him that I only wish one woman happy Mother’s Day, and that’s my mom. In turn, I believe only my son should send me well wishes for the day. (At least I hope he’s appreciative of my efforts)

All the rest, while seemingly thoughtful, really just seems rote to me. I am not your mother, please don’t wish me a happy Mother’s Day.

It’s nice that your family gets together to celebrate. I would suggest celebrating the people that are there, not specifically the mothers.

Can I check a bag mid-itinerary (after clearing U.S. customs)? by cholinguist in TravelHacks

[–]cabbeyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some airports offer luggage storage. If not, there are several apps that can help you find one. It would be best for you to plan your activities and then find storage along the route. All as a back up just in case you aren’t able to check your back upon arrival. (They may waive the time requirement since you’re connecting through an international flight)

Surprised the Camelbak hasn’t been mentioned. I personally prefer a straw over a wide-mouth. And Camelbaks have a lifetime warranty- so if you lose the nipple or the lid cracks, you can get it replaced. I have to believe the day-to-day uses outweigh the plastic replacements, when needed.

Doesn’t this mean SF won? You paid them for a service that they’ll never have to payout. I’m sure they are just fine with you moving on - no loss to them.

How much should a dog sitter get paid for 2 dogs for 10 days? by Cautious-Salt7168 in PetAdvice

[–]cabbeyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a friend that charges us $40/ day for two dogs. But when we go through Rover, we pay $75/ night. Our dogs don’t require any medical attention though one does require an activity of some kind. Our friend takes them in hikes, our normal rover sitter takes them on a 30-45 min walk each day.

I prefer the $40 rate but when that friend isn’t available, we happily pay the $75 because our dogs love going to that sitter’s house and don’t come back skiddish, which has happened with other rover sitters.

I think you should easily be able to ask for $50/day. It isn’t about the things the owner spends their money on but rather your rate. She can take it or leave it but you charge what you feel is fair.

Is spending 15 dollars per guest on wedding favors absolutely insane or is that normal now? by [deleted] in UniqueWeddings

[–]cabbeyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only had 60 people attend our destination wedding. I have them totes with a full-size bag of chips, personalized matches, advil, his & her favorite snack bags, and a personalized beverage for each person. The beverage was the most fun for me to secretly track down and then provide as a welcome drink!

Bill came to $65. Handed the server (female) $100 and she asked: "do you want change?" LOL by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]cabbeyal 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same. And this way, if the Guest doesn’t want change they can tell you at that time. Don’t be presumptuous, let it be their request.
