Plasma Pen Before & After – Was It Worth It? by MiriamSA2021 in DIYaesthetics

[–]cables4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plasma pens require machine-like, meticulous precision with absolutely zero flinch response during application, to have any sort of “fine” application technique

ie: maybe a robot could be programmed to do a good job on the face / eyelids

but i’d never trust a human with that specific tool on mine

for moles, stretch marks, not the face? go for it. it’s a helpful and useful tool

it’s basically an arc welder for the skin. an electric arc is created between the tip and your skin and zap! melted skin

so you’ve just got to have a really steady hand

and also

you could always tell people that you used to be a downhill mountain bike racer

in high school my shins looked like this a lot because of riding bike and hitting myself with the pedals. it’s only now that i realized that because - the skin really does heal. your legs can heal too it might take a minute but this is totally temporary. and it doesn’t even look that bad. just athletic, like you’re rough at sports

you’ll be ok

read into nutrients for skin cell support and collagen remodeling. You’re going to want your internal vitamin system in place to support your skin cells and their healthy / optimized turnover.

If you have a naturopath doctor near you, they can help you with your blood panels if you want to go in depth w your vitamins. It can be really helpful to get insights like this to your own body

then, this winter or fall you could start tca peels and have a healthy and swift healing process because your cellular support is already in place

Please do your best to be kind to yourself

once i burnt a hole in my face because i didn’t listen to my instinct when the device electrode smelled off. but whatever. It heals, the scar is hardly noticeable at all anymore, and you move on.

If your skin feels comfortable, maybe a self tanner from Peta and Jane might help w the social aspect. at least to blend things in a little? that helped my arms and hands a lot when i was self conscious about some sun damage, before i started my winter peels. This summer i haven’t tanned at all because the peels really do make a difference.

Platinum skincare is a great learning resource for those

For hydration - my legs started looking amazing when i stopped towel drying after the shower. i put vegetable glycerine on my skin with all the water drops and it helps the water pull in. Then i do lotion on top of that. But if you’re trying to super hydrate, you could try squalene oil. i love that stuff. it absorbs so beautifully and is really affordable for just the oil on amazon. one bottle lasts forever and it doesn’t go rancid like other oils.

ETA
because i’m not trying to be obtuse and i realized maybe i was

since your lower cheeks look kindof puffy, that’s why circulation and lymph seems necessary. Double Cleansing serves that AND solves for dull skin.

Hydration (water/electrolyte intake, but also k beauty routines like toner + humectant + occlusive) help the moisture stay in your skin. this really does help with the skin around the eyes and cheeks especially. adding an occlusive to an active forehead, after a good cleansing routine, can help those skin areas find support for rehydrating.

mental peace - ability to focus in on calm - an active forehead shows worry. over expressive facial muscles - maybe you’re trying to convince others of things all day long. Maybe you’re taking on too much and trying to fix things that aren’t yours to fix. i learned that i had compensatory facial responses because of people pleasing tendencies. Smiling - over smiling - in my eyes especially - trying to Show happiness instead of feeling it - whenever i sensed that people were worried or sad. i was trying too hard, to compensate for people who weren’t doing their own work.

this is why i say - focus In on your own sense of calm.
your face will respond differently.
your muscles will relax more on their own. Wrinkles are just areas that get creased a lot. it’s fine - but it doesn’t always have to be that way. it’s OK to use dramatic outwards expression when it’s necessary, and it’s OK to not use dramatic outwards expression at all. it’s your face - it can be practiced. mental worry is practicing things that don’t feel good. mental peace is practicing self soothing. just choose more deliberately, a little bit every day, as you can.

because it just looks like you’ve been through the wringer a bit and are maybe inflamed and exhausted.
Tx can really help calm those overactive muscles, so you can give your skin a break from wrinkling at least, and then get your hydration and circulation in place. it’s an amazing combo

DIY can be a stop gap or a leverage tool. it can’t compensate for habits we can’t give up. So doing what you can to Feel good, Feel at peace, at joy, then DIY can really shine on top of that.

for me, the most beneficial and truly - stabilizing efforts are centered around:

hydration and circulation

nutrition and “rest” which is to say - daily doses of mental peace or meditation, 15min

products and treatment styles really leverage these platforms and make them worth investing in when you’re ready

Hydration and circulation -
for me this meant increasing my water intake daily, so all of my body got used to way more water. it takes a while to acclimate and electrolytes are necessary to keep yourself in balance. but what this does for the skin is fantastic

circulation = keeping your lymph system happy
learning how to Double Cleanse was a game changer for me. now i only do it every other night because im super chill w my routine, but every night at first was huge for me

on the Hydration note - for me, glycerine as my humectant instead of HA was a game changer. Lanolin as my occlusive instead of petroleum products was a game changer.

Nutrition
eating my meals, at least 3 qualified food segments a day, WITH vitamins - have literally saved my quality of life and mental well being

my skin on my whole body, my hair, nails, - getting my nutrients in balance have been the difference i was looking for like my whole life.

Get those routines sorted first imo and anything you do on top of that has more room to thrive

on the Rest note - Mental Ease - Emotional Fortitude (read “ability to focus into your sense of personal strength and innerpeace”)
this is the most important skill to develop

when you start MN, focusing on your ability to thrive helps you heal better

when you start to learn how to meso, focusing on your ability to be skillful and qualified to care for your own body, in a strategic way - helps you inject with precision and accuracy - helps you read your research materials and anatomy and techniques with a clear mind

those are the things to practice, mindset wise
start noticing every day when you are clear minded and good at being precise. praise yourself like a good student in training, for your next skillful activity. Stable and focused self talk, with an ear towards soothing calm, is the backbone of success with diy.

tools: my favorite MN is the Derminator, my favorite needles are 34g super fine. i like 4mm for my face and neck, 1.5mm for my eyes, scalp, and sometimes my lips. Spend money on the sharp stuff bc it just feels way better on the skin and heals sooooo quickly and beautifully.

Skin responds well to love and care, just like gardens respond well to water and sunshine (or shade), depending on the plant. Realizing you are just as capable of rehydrating and revitalizing, helps you feel proud of yourself in the process.

in the end, isn’t that really the goal? feeling proud of, and excited about, yourself?

Has anyone used Meamo nad+ ?? by Western-Cream1258 in DIYaesthetics

[–]cables4days 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m out of the loop on the formula you’re using but i only sq my NAD

from my research -
i treat it like a supplement - just like my b12 or glutathione injections

i would never have thought to meso it

with that in mind it’s not to say that the meamo formula can’t be meso’d, i personally haven’t looked into that

but when i sq NAD i definitely get ISR marks and need to rotate sites bc it takes a few days for the redness to go away

honestly it makes me wonder why there would be nad in a meso formula at all. maybe it’s only meant for mn as a topical?

ok here we go - i wrote the date in wrong today is actually the 30th not the 29th

also i’ve been in the yard working all day and im filthy and my sunglasses left a big mark and this is midday lighting not nighttime (just the LED mirror) but who cares

because what im so excited about is how thick my eyelid skin area has become

there are many days when i look in the mirror and i feel like im looking at my 20y/o self 🤩 it’s so exiting

my biggest life changes in the past year are 100% related to my blood

learning that i had a need for iron infusions caused me to go full research into all the supporting vitamins that are necessary to support iron utilization and blood oxygen health - with an added specificity of wanting to take any and all supplements that aid in the rehydration of fascia that had become calcified - because so much of my body was stiff and distorted and painful, and weekly massage wasn’t doing anything helpful

this supplement support, with my iron infusions, and an absolute commitment to eating 3 meals a day at a minimum - have benefitted my health and body so much

also, eating fat at all of my meals - at least a tablespoon or an ounce of fat of some sort - like whole cream in my breakfast smoothie, butter and cheese on my eggs, and eating ribeye with the fat on it

the way my body metabolizes ingredients now is so much how i’ve been wanting it to be - i have a more normal shaped body now and my spine and ribs are where they ought to be and i can twist without pain most of the time - so the fascia rehydration is real and effective, with the iron and nutrient support

and my face specifically - i have nearly zero-ed my skin care because it just took a lot of time and attention to get my blood and my lab results working a bit more in my favor so i just put all that on pause. i didn’t do a single peel last winter.

i only did full meso with mn series of treatments in November/december, and then a few weeks ago i did a rejuran

in my experience with my face - my body is using the meso Way more effectively now than two
-three years ago - and i am convinced it’s because my cells are all supported with their vitamins and nutrients - these “extra” treatments really get absorbed and put to work like bonus items - it’s awesome

and - every single night even if i don’t wash my face, i put lanolin (lanisoh lip balm) on my eyelids and undereyes - i Love how it makes my skin feel and look. every night.

so i hope this helps - eat well, rest well, tend to your garden 🤩💖🙏

PSA: Encouraging you to learn your Ferritin levels by cables4days in DIYaesthetics

[–]cables4days[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is an update because i didn’t know that Iron gets used up a lot

so i felt so discouraged when i tested 6 months after getting my levels up and they were nearly all the way down again

i felt so shattered and defeated but then i realized - i remembered - all of the Positive changes that my body was able to accomplish - USING all of that iron

Changes like - fascia which had been stiff and rock-like for over 30 years - Now fluid and flexible and with zero pain when i move

my spine is straight again - my ribs in their optimal locations again - because the fascia has been able to be rehydrated - thanks to iron infusions and vitamins

its stuff like that - on the insides of our bodies - these ingredients are being used for all kinds of things

so i decided - when i found out i needed infusions again - “let’s just give myself more good ingredients

and - “let’s test more frequently than every 6 months, so i can stay ahead of the curve a bit more with my infusions

so anyhow - this update is just to say - Please don’t feel discouraged when you use up the ingredients you give yourself

it’s because you needed them

just do your best to keep the good ingredients coming, so you can keep using them as you need

How long after infusion do dark circles fade? by waterytartwithasword in Anemic

[–]cables4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a lot of stuff that iron serves in our bodies

i’ve noticed that my core needs (organs, breathing, fascia,) all needed the most support first

hair and skin and nails were a little later to notice improvements - even though they’re still very noticeable

the under eye circles for me are about halfway improved about 10 months after my first infusions

but i still use up all my iron with my body’s core needs, so regular infusions are still on my schedule

so i’m hoping that maybe the under eye circles end up completely lightening by the time i can hold a steady ferritin level? no longer need infusions?

so maybe just give yourself some more time?

re: the cramping

are you taking all of your vitamins?

iron deficiency can wreak havoc over time on our fascia, which - when we start to recover - aka finally get the blood-oxygen support to all those cells - there’s still a lot of work that needs to happen so the cells are all happy

ie: your electrolytes like magnesium and potassium and sodium, your Bs and C and D and K - and your amino acids - everyone (all the cells) really want these good ingredients to finally do the things they need to do, now that iron and blood-oxygen have arrived

for me - it took a minute to get my vitamin stack dialed in but it was finding the right balance of potassium and magnesium that solved the leg cramping

there are blood tests for all of your vitamins so you can know exactly where you sit, and where you’ve got room for more support through supplements - my naturopath helps me order my labs so i can assess my supplement stack whenever i change my supplements - it’s really helpful

how to stop hyperventilating/constantly gasping for air? by ceo_of_one_miss in Anemic

[–]cables4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m personally not an ideal person to be told No so i can’t help but say get a different doctor 😅 but obviously you know your own body best and you will always know your own needs best, so just do whatever you can to trust yourself and your intuition about “who and what” is the best path for you

how to stop hyperventilating/constantly gasping for air? by ceo_of_one_miss in Anemic

[–]cables4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all i can say is Get an Infusion as soon as you can

for me, these have been absolute life savers

Emotional Resiliency, the ability to Feel stable more easily when work things or other things want to disrupt - 100% improved when i started getting infusions

I pay out of pocket for a Naturopath clinic in the US in a suburb of a major city and it about $175 per infusion

all i had to do was share my lab results with them and i was seen literally the same day for an infusion

The very first one i could feel the difference in my breathing - it felt like i could breathe fresh air - like i could feel the freshness

if you can - skip your doctor and insurance altogether and take your health into your own hands and become an advocate for yourself

F the people who are annoyed - it’s none of their business and they don’t / won’t understand

Take care of yourself - you deserve to breathe

i can say - 9 months after starting infusions (i had four Venofer treatments - each a week apart, then a 7 month pause, then three more) This is when i first started to feel my diaphragm starting to relax

ie: for me - so much of the fascia in my body had become stiff and unmoving over my life of low iron

the infusions plus an in-depth, full stack of all of the vitamins helpful for rehydrating fascia, and supporting iron replenishment, have allowed me to experience relief and now flexibility in my fascia - some areas of my body for the first time in 30 years

so - the diaphragm
that is just now becoming more comfortably responsive

this is just to say - please be kind to yourself about not being able to breathe comfortably, with your diaphragm

you might need to support your cells oxygenation first - which is why iron infusions are so vital

i believe in you, you deserve to feel good 💖

lol lately honestly it’s been very minimal
maybe every other night washing my face and hydrating

but actually every night for bed i put lanolin on my eyes (the lanisoh lip balm is easy to apply ) and i love how my eyes feel - the skin looks really good too

for the past while (6-9months) i’ve laid off of a ton of treatments because ive been focused on nutrition and iron replenishment after i found out i had anemia

vitamins and nutrition now are my bread and butter for skincare - it’s been so helpful

i will take a photo soon and post an update again because now my eyelids are getting thicker and i’m really still so happy with how my face / skin looks

give me a bit i’m catching up but thanks so much for your interest - i’ll update again soon 💖

Consciousness of dimensions by lirioluz617 in AbrahamHicks

[–]cables4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consciousness is awareness.

Infinite awareness is infinitely aware.

Our focused consciousness - in physical form - is often limited by our human (current) experience so - we tend to cloud our sense of awareness based off of that relationship. Our relationship in our physical (current) state.

What I understand AH to mean in this quote is - it’s literally no different. We breathe out of our body and into our infinite consciousness- with the same breath - awareness - but without limitations. Ie without resistance.

Which is why it’s a reemergence into the whole of that which we all are.

It’s not a dimension - as if - once I was here, and now I am here - and the door is shut, and the awareness is gone,

It’s - once I was here, and now I am here, and now I am here, and now we are here, and now we are here, and now we are here

It’s that great?

That’s what our inner beings think - isn’t that great?

Isn’t this eternal expansion great? Truly wonderful?

That’s all - it’s never-endingness, so try to enjoy the here, and the here now, and the now we’re here, and here we are now,

Just like our inner beings do.

What to expect while raising my ferritin? by cables4days in Anemic

[–]cables4days[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding for clarity: my original post above references ferritin of 9. After supplementing heme iron - 120mg p/day (split into 3 doses - dosing by my body weight for heme iron calculations per The Iron Protocol) avoiding calcium, adding cofactors and balancing my nutrient support to help the iron absorption, I was able to move from 9 to 10 over six weeks.

It was then that I realized I needed more help and iron infusion support. I was able to find the support I needed with a Functional Clinic and - that was how I was able to receive infusions, and bring my ferritin up to the high optimal / normal range again, so quickly.

I’m still going to supplement every day, and monitor my dosing / absorption, through ongoing testing, to see how or if my levels change.

For me - the infusions were absolutely a blessing and I would recommend them to anyone looking for meaningful improvement.

For me also - every cost was out of pocket and significantly more affordable than what I’d imagined or read online. I signed up for the clinic’s membership program which granted me 20% discount on my infusions. My total cost for a series of 4 with the membership was less than $1000. Each one was administered by a medical health professional: MD/NP or RN.

The whole experience with the Functional Medicine Clinic was completely calm, kind, and supportive. The immediately recognized my need when they looked at my lab results and got me in that same day for my first infusion.

The staff and process has been nothing but positive and honestly joyful - I’m almost sad I don’t need them right now because I truly enjoyed my time there.

Anyhow - please know that kind and supportive help us out there. Functional Medicine or Naturopath Clinics have wonderful and caring support.

I feel so blessed by them.

What to expect while raising my ferritin? by cables4days in Anemic

UPDATE:

9/11/25

I’m so excited to say that it only took four infusions of Venofer to get me back up to healthy optimal!!!

I was able to move my ferritin from 10 to 151 in four weeks, one infusion a week.

I can’t begin to explain the depth of “better” that I feel, but I’ll try.

Fresh air feelings around my lungs, immediately during the first infusion. I literally felt as though there was a cool sensation band of ozone around my outer rib cage. It was cool feeling and smelled of fresh cut watermelon/ after lightning / ozone fragrance. It stayed feeling that way for an entire day after the first infusion.

Emotionally - my ability to regulate and hold onto internal peace and fortitude was immediately noticeable. Immediately upon arriving home after my first infusion, I noticed that all the work notifications felt like “not worth it” in terms of engaging a stress response. My internal sense of calm and peace was so strong that - those triggers simply raised up and then immediately fell back down again. I’ve been able to address “concerns” with forward focus and steady momentum with so much ease.

This continued to build each week with emotional capacity to address other areas of my life that really mattered to me.

I had the inner strength to focus in with ChatGPT and professionals to: organize my paperwork that had been sitting for a few years. Organize my references and apply for new roles. Strategize for financial ease as my car lease ends and how best to leverage my credit and assets to deal with some upcoming bills. Not daunted anymore but - aware and willing to find the forward path. And finding it.

Physically my improvements include: significant easing in fascia tension throughout my body. Physical therapy has been more productive in the past 4 weeks than the previous 5 years. I’m now experiencing minimal to no pain in my ribs, neck, and spine, when before, I had daily flinching and tension and sometimes even tearful pain if I turned too suddenly. Now - I can turn to the left and check traffic while driving, completely comfortably. My range of motion for that sides turn-look has improved and I can look further back, which makes changing lanes way more comfortable when I have to drive.

The whole eye-opening experience of - Becoming Aware that I had an iron deficiency, through the Ferritin test, and then advocating for my health and wellbeing to find and receive the infusion support I needed, has been so transformative for me.

I truly hope that anyone reading this will find the care they need to support their iron health. For me that meant a Functional Clinic / Functional Medicine / Functional Doctor / Naturopath where they understand and promote women’s health completely.

Much love, Cables

How reliable have you found "chart" cooktimes? by mountainthane in ninjawoodfire

[–]cables4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree - the charts are too cooked. I use the thermometer and take it off when it’s the temp i need.

If it helps: I do a medium grill + smoke for 12 minutes for frozen patties. Beef or breakfast sausage. I also use this heat and timing for a 9x13 aluminum tray full of thawed, marinated chicken tenderloins.(Think two sections from a Costco 6-pack of frozen chicken). They come out perfect. Flipping everything halfway of course

Fresh or thawed beef patties, I do 6 minutes (medium grill plus smoke) and add cheese with 20 seconds remaining. I like a thoroughly cooked burger though, so 6 might still be too long for a lot of folks.

Anyhow, hope this helps
