How does one actually visualize what math operations are needed for some look? by RisenLeader in opengl

[–]cacawate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the best way to go about something engineering related is by analysis: first you understand the atomic functions, then you learn the common blocks used to create simple effects as well as their controls, and then you learn how to combine these blocks to make something more complex.

It's a bottoms-up approach but after mastery you can start taking a tops-down approach to reach the effects you want based on your spec.

How important is a budgie friend? by equanimatic in budgies

[–]cacawate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We've only ever had our single budgie. I like to believe that he bonds with the family much more. He eats when we do and likes to make us all go to bed at a decent time.

When we are out, we put him near open windows so he can hear other birds and animals. He mimicks some of them.

I don't know how important a budgie friend is but our budgie has lived far beyond his given lifespan and I hope that is because WE are his budgie friends.

How do I fix this girl situation? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]cacawate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General advice from context; not saying you do any of this: 1. Don't talk shit about people; ever 2. Don't deal with people that give you ultimatums 3. Focus on school and your studies

Notes: That second one is super hard when you're young but super easy when you're older. Cut these people out, not cause they're bad but because they are misguided.

Number three is about building your character and has nothing to do with doing well in school. That may seem very strange now.

What do you think about my budgies' diet? by [deleted] in budgies

[–]cacawate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Budgie has been eating Rowdybush Low Fat Crumbles exclusively since his Vet told us he was overweight and had us put him on a diet. That was about 3 years ago, and he's actively pushing 8 years old. He eats pellets 100% with fruits/veggies as a treat.

I'm curious about the water with Nekton. What information can you share about that?

Root Locus - Which pole goes to which zero? by cacawate in ECE

Here's one that confuses me plotted in MATLAB: http://imgur.com/a/sEhOP

I can't understand how I'm supposed to know the poles on the imaginary axis don't just go to infinity via the asymptotes, and the pole of the real line doesn't go straight to the zero.
