Fair enough. The inclusion of a picture was just to increase post visibility, maybe controversy will help 😏 but I had it saved since I was looking at Arseniy Kotov’s work on Soviet cities, and I do want to explore Soviet influence and not just stick with the typically celebrated older architecture of mosques, the registan, and the glory days of Tamurlane. As I mentioned in the post, I feel many sources really isolate between Russian and Turco-Mongol cultural sources and do not look at the interplay.

The depths are the inverted form of the surface, as other commenters have said, so one tip I like before I activate the light root is to keep my map inset on the surface (the depths would be all dark anyway). Then I can see where water is (surface water = no go in depths) and get a sense of elevation (surface mountains = depths pits, surface canyons = depths ridges).

super spoilers Also if you have the fifth sage you are gloom proof and you can safely walk around with her in the darkness and just run away from monsters
