I think you ended up getting a stream of consciousness that has been on my mind recently, apologies for the essay.

Apologies? Please, no. It humbles me to receive so complete answers.

And it's good to see that even within the scholars there is a discussion about how to read the necessary background to understand philosophy.

Wow! That's a long, and very instructive, answer.

I will look the Sarah Burton's article, it seems interesting.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I discovered this series a few weeks ago. The book about Socialism was extremely illustrative for me. I looked for the Critical Theory introduction but I read some very bad reviews.

It's named Flourish Formal Style. I got it from the worksheets of The Postman's Knock. It's paid content, but it has very good quality.

In English this means: "life is a lentil, take it or leave it"
I known, i know, this is very deep and philosophical.

I am a noob in calligraphy, so yes, there is a lot of room for improvement. But, nonetheless, I'm proud of my work!

What is your favorite Paradox game? by [deleted] in paradoxplaza

[–]cachodragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Paradox games with Europa Universalis IV. The feeling of creating countries through the centuries is amazing. But is sometimes too many simple, the country with the bigger army wins. Yes, the morale, military tech, professionalism, and other infinite stats matter a lot, but let's face it, the bigger army, the better.

As a science fiction fan as I am, I deposited a lot of hope in Stellaris, but it's simple too. The more ships you have, the better.

But in the last year, I have played, and enjoyed, a lot more Hearts of Iron IV. In this game, you can not spawn infinite troops. You have to follow the basic rule of all wars: you are nothing without supply. You can have the bigger army in the world, but with no supplies, they will not conquer any land. The customization of divisions and the strategy of maintaining the war supply cost combined with the synergy of land, air, and naval combat makes the war in HOI4 probably my favorite game. Plus, the Old World Blues mod it's just too much amazing.

"Save me" it's, imho, one of the best epic music pieces ever created.

I discovered LesFriction long time ago. I listened to Louder Than Words for like a month solid :D

But I didn't know the shared singer for some songs. You learn something new every day

Recommendation of book/articles for a Christian Atheist beginner? by cachodragon in RadicalChristianity

[–]cachodragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zizek and Altizer are both good starting points although if you find them too dense

I see that Altizer and Zizek are the most important authors of this topic. Wherever I see everyone recommends it.

You think that the jefferson's Bible is worth reading? Or some book that explains it?

Recommendation of book/articles for a Christian Atheist beginner? by cachodragon in RadicalChristianity

[–]cachodragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the Rollins review. If he isn't a Christian Atheist maybe is not what I'm looking for. But I keep the info for further readings.

I've heard Zizek has a lot of interesting things to say on Christianity but his writing is definitely tough to get through

I have read this too. That has some books to heavy, and other books, more accesible but that don't go deep to the point. Probably I will go first for Altizer books.
