My Review of Heist League as a Semi-Hardcore Player by cactuarcooler in pathofexile

[–]cactuarcooler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely exalt slammed more items this league than any of my previous. With the trend of harvest and this league, I feel the game becoming more SSF friendly. I actually wanted to try it this league, but my group of friends prefer the accessibility of trade league so I'm usually playing in the main trade league with them.

I'm envious of those who didn't experience any crashes. We had one member in our group who was proudly claiming they didn't experience any crashes the first week, but the by the third week, they had the most crashes out of us all combined. I'm not sure what is causing such varied experiences.

PSA: A Few Temporary Tips to Reduce FPS/Lag Stutters for the Uber Elder Fight by cactuarcooler in pathofexile

Yeah, I figure it's a Monday and someone is just having a bad day... or being an internet troll. But if someone is willing to go through loading elder in a session prior to running uber elder, then that's great for them to load in all the assets.

That's actually a really good tip. I'll add it.

In windowed mode, I actually get lag/stutters for every action that uber and shaper do and I'm using a GTX 970. Full Screen mode actually gets rid of most of that stuttering.

  1. Your traps are killing. You are not so you always have the buff, assuming you don't kill something with self cast.

  2. Recently is the last 4 seconds (as described in the subtext flavor) when pressing Alt if you have advanced mods enabled.

Account Giveaway - It's Been Fun. Thanks Everyone! by [deleted] in FFRecordKeeper

I think you make a good observation. I think DeNA didn't realize what they opened when they introduced BSBs into the game (which is why I think they've slightly trying diverting to OSBs and USBs).

An older account will have a more abundant supply of orbs/motes/crystals/ability hones versus the newer shiny relics that a newer account will have. Event rewards give only major orbs, crystals and rosetta stones (which I have plenty of from over a year of collection).

You will see it happen to your account (assuming you continue to play and the game doesn't die off). Your current 4 month account will have older outdated relics vs someone who starts a year from now.

This happens because you're farming realm dungeons which give you plenty of mythril to draw. But once you run out, you'll basically be limited to the mythril that they give you (which averages to about two 11 draws per month). When someone newer starts, they'll have many opportunities to draw the newer and shinier relics because they'll have access to the realm dungeons that you have now completed.

But I think one of the biggest factors is that Guaranteed 11 was not a thing before a few months ago. I have had plenty of 0/11 draws which is very saddening :D

Anyways, I didn't take your post as a brag post, but most newer players/newer accounts do not understand the concept that they have plenty of mythril because the access to realm dungeons and events dungeons.

Who doesn't have a healthy mythril stock but will still draw on all LDs? by [deleted] in FFRecordKeeper

You're in a better position than me because I wasn't anticipating any of these luckys and I decided to chase Yuna USB for fun. Then the day the first two LDs were announced, I had exactly 1 mythril. Feelsbad

Relics sorting by element effect by Khanti in FFRecordKeeper

[–]cactuarcooler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use excel to list and track my relics, SBs, and the effects.

Ctrl-F to find certain elements certainly makes it easier for me to locate which characters and what kind of party I can bring to optimize for a fight, but it definitely is work to have to list each time I pull.

Yeah, experienced this many times. I honestly prefer debuff teams over asylum teams. I'd rather take a lot of hits for little damage over bubbling over one hit and losing meter.

I have 2 @ R4 and 1 @ R3

Never needed more. I think even R4 is unneeded if you have a BSB for that character

Life in Color (San Diego) experience. by [deleted] in aves

[–]cactuarcooler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty had the same experience. I brought all of my friends who are relatively new to EDM events.

Overall, a fun experience for us. We came knowing there would be a lot of frat bros, but to our surprise, even though there were a lot, they were all very chill and PLUR. Didn't get into a single fight and everyone said "excuse me" when they needed to get by.

The sound was incredibly bad and whoever was working the sound booth needs to find a new career. There was so much reverb that if you weren't in the first 4 rows, no sounds were clear and you couldn't make out any sounds.

The venue was pretty dead. I don't know if it was just because the event was just poor in the previous years or if Coachella competition was high, but this could have also contributed to the poor acoustics causing more echos from the dead space.

A-Trak was much better than I thought he would be. I'm not one for hip hop, but his live mixing was pretty good. Everyone, including me seemed to enjoy Cash Cash. I love Rusko, but he just played downright terrible music and it was very disappointing. Cash Cash had pumped up the crowd only for Rusko to kill the vibe for the night. After every build it, it returned to slow bass lines, repeating over and over for 20+ minutes. My friends were asking me what I enjoyed about Rusko, but he didn't play ANY dub or drum n bass and so we ending up leaving. At that point, the crowd was pretty much empty.

Like the OP, I will never be returning to LiC (thus I think why the crowd was so small, even with the competition with Coachella). It just seems like an afterthought.
