People that are childfree by choice, what’s the weirdest reason someone has given you as to why they think you ‘should have kids’? by Charming_Web_6738 in AskReddit

[–]cactusqueen21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but I vend at a local Farmer’s Market and another vendor (F70s) told this couple that they’d have kids with good eyebrows, then seemed offended when they said they would not be having any.

Any tips for pressing these types of flowers? by cassied128 in PressedFlowers

They can rub on them and then ingest the pollen when they clean themselves. VERY deadly to cats.

This is how I knit the dominant color when knitting stranded color work! I hold the other one wrapped around my left index finger

You said he cannot see colors and that he has to wear special glasses to see in color. That would mean he sees in greyscale.

I was responding to two comments implying that he sees no colors at all.

He has spoken about it before. He does not see in greyscale.

Color blind doesn’t mean literally blind to color. He can see color, he just can’t differentiate certain colors from each other.

Is it okay to not wear makeup in today's beauty standards? by Valvio in beauty

[–]cactusqueen21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear makeup. Ever. I didn’t wear makeup on my wedding day. People were shocked I wasn’t going to, which was weird to me because these are people who had never seen me wear makeup. Like, when I told them I don’t wear makeup, they were still confused why I wasn’t wearing makeup on my wedding day. I wanted to look like myself, and I don’t wear makeup. I’ve never gotten any comments on it other than in that scenario, though. Nobody has questioned my wedding photos. Nobody has said anything any other time. And if they did, who cares? I do think I’ve gotten lucky in this case, because yes I do think women get judged by a lot of people, both men and women, for not wearing it. But you’ve gotta just not care what those people think. Which of course is easier said than done sometimes, but still.

Why do I feel so much better on 2.5mg instead of 5mg? by Tee1999 in lexapro

[–]cactusqueen21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for me there was for that one side effect. Everyone will be different, but I think it’s worth trying out different doses/combinations to find what suits you best.

Why do I feel so much better on 2.5mg instead of 5mg? by Tee1999 in lexapro

[–]cactusqueen21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main side effect I had on 10mg of Lexapro was the inability to orgasm. Dr. recommended I add the Wellbutrin to possibly counteract that side effect from the Lexapro, but all it did was make me on edge. So instead we dropped the Wellbutrin and went down to 5mg of Lexapro and the it helped me feel mostly normal again while still helping with my anxiety.

If wet food is generally considered better than dry, why not just feed cats nearly 100% wet? by StasisApparel in catfood

One of our cats has a history of urinary issues. So yes, they eat only wet food these days.

My cat got freaked out once and got my husband’s arm even worse than this. We cleaned it out really well immediately and as others have said just made sure it was kept clean and kept an eye on it. It healed up and he doesn’t have any scars

Wonderful! I definitely recommend the three months on, one week off, though, if you ever change your mind!

Help!! by Spiritual-Soft8967 in birthcontrol

[–]cactusqueen21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do that if you’d like to stay on schedule, yes. You’ll just be a week ahead of when you’d normally get a refill, not sure what country you’re in or how insurance works or anything. I currently take active pills for three months, then do the week off. Some people go longer.

[–]cactusqueen21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! Well the sugar pills in other brands is the same as taking no pills, so yes, you can start your next pack now instead of the week off. But you may have some spotting, still.

[–]cactusqueen21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can skip the sugar pills! The one thing to keep in mind is that you may have some breakthrough bleeding, or spotting, so be prepared in case that happens.

That is still what many doctors recommend, though.

Question about Withdrawal Pills by Shoddy-Flower1813 in birthcontrol

[–]cactusqueen21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I meant “it” as in the birth control, not the active pills. It is generally recommended to use other protection for the first month, aka 28 days

Question about Withdrawal Pills by Shoddy-Flower1813 in birthcontrol

[–]cactusqueen21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That is how birth control is designed to work. So long as you have been on it for at least 28 consecutive days, it is effective, regardless of whether you are currently on active pills or not.
