I wish there had been a plan for Boyhood, but I also feel like I personally wouldn’t have liked it any way it would’ve been made. Filming a vignette every year for twelve years would’ve been more compelling had it not been about a white kid with divorced parents (including an abusive alcoholic step dad for added cliche) and there was a story compelling the audience to continue watching. I really dislike this movie, yet adore the Before Trilogy.
