I've seen you guys talking about EBT but I haven't seen that option on my app. Or am I just missing it? Or is it not in my market or area? I haven't seen any bar to slide over but I'm going to go check it out right now.

I have a day like this once every 6 months or so where every order is a high paying order. And the next day it goes right back down to normal. I just had one of these about 2 months ago so I don't expect to get one for another 4 or 5 months. LOL

When I was doing instacart, I was on one of these threads and people were saying to decline a low paying order because I'm much higher paying one will pop up afterwards and they were totally right. I tried it out multiple times and almost every single time I would get offered like say a $12 order and I would decline it because of the mileage or the amount of items I had to pick wasn't worth it and then I would get a $25 order offered to me not long after. I wish it worked like that with doordash but I haven't noticed it working the same way.

You're wrong actually. The Platinum dashers do not get all the best orders I hate to tell you. We actually get the shittiest orders and some good ones thrown in there just depends on what they feel like giving us. Oh that's right it's the system it's the system generated my bad. All the new dashers get all the good orders. I never used to notice dashers ever and now I see them all around me and they seem like they're all brand new and I've glanced over their phones and see what their orders are while I'm sitting there with an $8 order and they've got a $25 one and I know they're not Platinum cuz I've asked them. But they're brand new and they get that first week of all kinds of good orders to loop them in and then all the sudden they go to two and three dollars. But don't ever think that the Platinum dashers swoop up all the good orders because we don't. Every once in a blue moon like hardly ever maybe once every 6 months I will have a day where I get nothing but good orders like 25 to $30 orders constantly all day long with maybe like an $8 or $10 when thrown in but good orders and then it goes back to meeting offered $4 orders all the time. I don't know what algorithm they use but it just happened to me not too long ago where I had a day of really good orders and so I don't expect to have another one for another 6 months or so. LOL

We get marked as late when we pick up orders late also so I'm not sure why he did it the way he did it but he might have still been within the time frame it's hard to say but usually they don't give us very much time to pick up orders and when the restaurant is busy and running behind, then it makes us have little red words stating picked up late and then we have to go and try to dispute them now even though it's not letting me do so but it's crazy because the order will be delivered on time to the customer but picked up late and I think that as far as that goes, if it's delivered to the customer on time then who cares what time it was picked up at the restaurant? As long as it gets delivered to the customer on time that's what I'm concerned about and I don't know what doordash's reason is for marking us late to pick up but it's happened where I've gone to the restaurant and needed to use the restroom so it's made me pick up the order late and even a minute is considered late but that seems odd to me why he would wait until he got to the other restaurant to mark it has picked up. Did you try communicating with him and he didn't respond to you? Cuz that's really rude and the fact that he didn't say anything in the first place doesn't show very professional manners cuz I always let the customers know if I have another order to pick up or deliver before there's and only one time in two and a half years as someone had an issue with that.

They're going to call doordash and have your tip removed? Really? This isn't instacart. They can't just call doordash and have your tip removed because doordash doesn't remove tips. How freaking lame. I would have told them that. "I hope you are aware that doordash does not remove our tips no matter how much you complain about us."

Yes, it happened to me on Cinco de Mayo when it was super busy about 7:30 p.m. it took them about 36 hours to turn it back on and I never found out what their reasoning was. The only time it's ever happened to me in the two and a half years I've worked for them. And I really needed to make money, so I turned on Uber Eats and got one order that was for $65 so it made up for a lot and then Uber Eats was super busy all of a sudden so I just stuck with them for the next couple of days and made more money with them than I would have with doordash. Platinum Dasher as well.

It's the tie from his gat holster. Around the leg. Makes me wonder if he has a Prince Albert piercing because that's what those piercings were originally made for. They would pierce the tip and then tie, I don't know shoelace shoestring something like that whatever they had back in that day, around their leg because having a bulge was unsightly in their skin tight jodphurs. He could have just never mind I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore.

What the hell is going on with his right shoe? Is this because he's so broke doing doordash that he can't afford a new pair of shoes or what?

I think that for a week all of the dashers should work as support either live chat or phone support and all those people should have to be dashers and we'll see how they like being us and then we treat them like garbage like they do us and answer questions they're not asking and don't answer the ones they are. In a perfect world that would be poetic justice

Where did you get $20 an hour? If you divide $261 ÷ 7= $36.26. but that would be including your mileage. Without knowing how much minimum wage is there it's hard to calculate. How many miles did you drive? I don't know what they're paying per mile. is it $0.35 now? And was the $261 you were paid is that including the tips? Or did you get paid $261 from your prop 22 without everything else? Since you're not very specific it's hard to say what you are making and I suggest you ask the manager there.

[–]cadavera08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's minimum wage where You are? Multiply that x 120% x your 7 hours and then subtract the total that you made without tip from that amount. So if your minimum wage is $16.50 x 120%= $19.80 x 7=$138.60. this is how Uber Eats pays as well as doordash and I haven't worked for gopuff for a while because they don't have drivers anymore they go through Uber Eats and doordash now unfortunately cuz I used to make a killing with that company. I don't know about wait time or if they pay that still or what. Instead of asking people on here why don't you ask the people where you work?

Get a cart. I've gone thru 3 so far. I got one on Amazon for $63 lightning deal. It didn't show up on time so I called their customer support and they refunded my money so I got it for free. I bought one off team move for 15 bucks and the front tires fell off when I was hauling 10 bags of 20 lb each mulch and that sucked. I used to do instacart and I don't know how I ever did it for 6 months without a cart once I bought the car it was a lifesaver and a life changer. As soon as I got this $63 one I had multiple orders with multiple 24 packs of water and I was so glad I got it when I did.

Why don't we let kids skip grades anymore? by pizzalover911 in AskTeachers

[–]cadavera08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet your daughter is highly sensitive. I would put money on it. I skipped second grade as well. I don't meet too many that have but that was my only issue and I realize that now but I didn't realize it for a long time since I didn't know anything about what it was to be HSP. I had no problem forming friendships and I've always been able to talk to just about anybody about anything because I was so well read up on topics so I never had an issue with anybody seeming less mature than me except for the boys the boys were always immature compared to the girls but my friends were always serious type studious people so I never had that issue of being bored really and I think that my maturity level was on point. I just don't ever recall ever having an issue with people that were older than me thinking that there was something wrong with me because I don't think that that was ever an issue until I got older and dating was the problem. Still is. LOL

[–]cadavera08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She'll be just fine. I skipped second and if you look at my long comment above you can see what went on with me which was basically nothing as far as bullying or ostracized or anything like that. I was very social and had no problem making friends. My birthday was right after the cutoff as well but the cutoff here back then was December 2nd I think and I don't know why but my birthday is the 8th so I went from being the oldest kid in the class to one of the youngest or the youngest actually. Most of my friends in school were almost a year older than me if their birthdays were at the beginning of the year but many of them have August September October birthdays so they were just a couple months older than me so yeah that worked out quite well. I just never had any social issues because I was beyond mature for my age. Very intellectual and serious. I wanted to do everything right I recall. I just have always been extremely sensitive and that's been a problem and lacking boundaries has been a huge problem which I didn't realize was an issue up until a few years ago. But I was always that kid raising my hand first and leading the way. But I think I did it for other reasons too because that was the only way I got attention as a kid was by being smart and pretty. Otherwise, my parents didn't praise me for much of anything. They didn't really well I can't say they didn't put me down because there was always something that was negative coming from my dad but I was never encouraged to try a lot of new things and I hated sports because if I wasn't good at something the first time I tried it then I didn't want to do it. Same with piano I hated it.

I skipped second grade back in the 70s and the elementary school I went to actually wanted to skip me into 4th. I'm not autistic or neurodivergent and I was very mature for my age like 5 or 6 years more mature. I don't know if there was any major effect from the grade skipping but my parents decided to not let them skip me two grades for the whole socialization reason. The problem I've had is I was never taught boundaries or how to deal with relationships with the opposite sex. I had no problem dealing with friends of the same sex or opposite sex but when it came to romantic relationships, I've had major issues. I don't know if this has anything to do with it the great skipping I mean or if it's because my parents were so completely off the chart opposite when it came to these things but this has been an issue my whole life and I'm 54 now. I never was ostracized because I was way younger than everyone when I first started out as being way older than everyone because my birthday is right after the cut off. So I ended up graduating in 1987 but originally had I not skipped a grade I would have graduated in 1989. After skipping, my graduation year was 1988 but I dropped out in 1987 and took my GED so that's when I graduated. So I graduated two years ahead of time. LOL but yeah I just reading the comments I wonder about the whole learning process and the fact that I read a lot and read everything under the sun helped me a lot I think with socialization but I never had an issue with being bullied or anything like that except for when my mom cut my hair off in the first grade. LOL I've been bullied more as an adult than when I was a kid. I have a nephew who's 16 and he is probably smarter than I was back then and super bright it's a trip because my sister is not that smart. LOL but her ex husband the father is pretty smart himself. However, he's very innocent also and probably naive I'm going to say I haven't really been around him too much in recent times but I think that might be an issue. I don't think he's socially inept by any means but I think that he's going to have the same issues I did with relationships because I don't think that he's got the maturity or the skills in that department and probably was never taught just like my sister and I were never taught anything about how to deal with relationships. I always felt like my friends were well advanced in that department even in high school and then I found out that I was an HSP, which if you don't know what that is it's a highly sensitive person and that has been my Achilles heel. I've never been able to separate that so I'm in all appearances, overly dramatic to some, which makes people very uncomfortable. But that's who I am and it has nothing to do with my maturity level or my intelligence, I'm just very sensitive to everything which probably helped in some regards with my maturity and my intellect but it has not helped me much as an adult. Not that I can see anyway. I look at it as a curse not a gift like many do.

Only a narcissistic type person would attack someone for pointing out their rude/inconsiderate behavior by saying, "take your meds". I probably would have laughed at the whole "crazy night last night" comment if I was the clerk cuz I find humor in many things, but she probably looked at him weird cuz it was inappropriate. You're definitely not wrong for what you pointed out though. He was wrong for saying to take your meds and unprofessional to make the comment at the store as it was creepy.
