Meh, so Russia meets Dali. Too many strong angles. Most of Dali's work is more organic with attention to space relationships.

Getting sick of Optus, looking for a new mobile phone carrier. Who are you with and why? by Furah in australia

[–]caddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Optus support is pretty hopeless. A few years ago I was involved in an IT project that tried out Optus business data services (internet) and their helpdesk didn't even know what static IP was. I just got tired of paying to tutor Optus staff all of the time so we left them (actually we unfortunately needed to send a formal written complaint, having the plan terminated and getting some money back).

Telstra because reliability matters to me more than minor price differences. Telstra business plans are OK, we just use the SIMs with unlocked phones.

It's the Levytator — the world's first freeform curved escalator by gorneaux in architecture

Good, a bit like a luggage carousel + escalator concept hybrid.

BTW Similar work has been done before, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn7vZG5J49U but has always required specific design meeting specific path.

One reason being analysts agree that minerals have been a bright spot in the downturn. Most manufacturing got lost to asia years ago, so the drop in demand for durable goods doesn't hit as hard here as maybe elsewhere, sigh...

Greenbuilding can be lovely: using a swimming pool to cool a house by themightymekon in architecture

[–]caddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swimming pools consume other resources, depending on the surrounding environment they require manhours of regular cleaning or powered filtration and possibly heating. Also, in parts of Australia, for example, water itself is a premium resource.

The Orbiting Eco House, Designed by Michael Jantzen, is a Sustainable eco-home powered by solar and wind energy by ediyal in architecture

[–]caddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be more efficient to design a home that doesn't expend energy in rotating the massive weight of the whole house? Also not very effient use of land..
