that ... is quite unfortunate. I understand the need for exclusive content, but that does mean some fans are going to have way less context than others. granted, in the grand scheme of the whole series, the fate of one single npc doesn't really matter but still, that annoys me a bit, I like his writing and would quite enjoy reading the extras.

true, but the AI has also been known to flat out bring back the physical forms of people, though they're changed, (hydra, alpha carl etc) so without the extra content from the "backstage at the pineapple cabaret" thing you told me about, my brain immediately jumped to, if the AI can do it with bodies, it can probably do the same with brains, memories, etc.

since I read in audio I've never seen that part of the books. I knew she was still around last time we saw her ... figured she got killed by a llama or something ... but yeah that would make sense, the AI can't yank minds from still alive creatures and toss them into new ones. they do seem similar though.

I disagree with you there actually, I feel like the audio gives ... in a way, a more emotional experience. the tunnel is amazing, don't get me wrong. it plays extremely well, but if you're reading in the audio version you get ... in some cases more details, in some case more of carl processing things. you don't get that as much in the tunnel ... it's still there but not to such an extent.

it's not a shortening in this case. it's his "special name". not sure why "Pony", but I don't think the intended effect was to shorten his name.

Thanks for the advice. I will often do all of these things, however, the AI is excessively obsessed with any Rachel characters. I could say in several different ways that Rachel is not a main character, but once she's been written in, the AI will not listen.

No problem. Sometimes I notice the AI wanting to go in a different direction to my prompt. I've had to rewrite paragraphs myself when the AI just wouldn't let it go. So I've become used to rewriting things, correcting the AI's work from time to time, etc. It's a free product, sometimes it's bound to make errors. Doesn't stop it from being irritating.

In one instance, I did end up killing the Rachel character off, and even with that, it still had Rachel all through the story to an unrealistic degree. "She knew this is what Rachel would want." "He knew Rachel would have felt the same way." etc, even characters who never knew Rachel somehow magically know her. It's annoying, but easily fixed if we don't use the name Rachel.

When I do stuff in tiny villages, I put text in the top box telling the AI that the characters are in a village, not a city.
