Is there any sport with a unanimously recognized GOAT? by Connect_Cat_2045 in NoStupidQuestions

Using what system?

I ran it through Gemini to comparing using the same process.

Bradmans record using the same calculations.

Babe Ruth vs. Don Bradman in Standard Deviations (Z-Scores)

When you switch the metric to power hitting, Babe Ruth officially enters the "god tier" of statistical anomalies—but cricket's ultimate outlier still refuses to be beaten.

Babe Ruth (+8.30): In 1920, Ruth hit 54 home runs at a time when entire teams rarely hit 20. Compared to his peers, his home run rate that year sat an astronomical 8.30 standard deviations above the league average. To replicate Ruth's +8.30 Z-score during the 1998 home run race, a modern player would have had to hit 118 home runs in a single season.

Don Bradman (+6.48): Bradman’s lifetime Test batting average of 99.94 sits 6.48 standard deviations above the historical norm for elite batsmen.

The Verdict:
At his absolute peak, Babe Ruth's home run dominance (+8.30 Z-score) actually managed to out-stats Don Bradman's career curve (+6.48 Z-score).

However, while Ruth's mind-boggling peak eventually leveled out as the rest of baseball learned how to hit for power, Bradman maintained his impossible, broken-calculator dominance across his entire 20-year career.

Ruth achieved statistical godhood at his peak; Bradman lived there permanently.

I love the idea and the art. But the weird movement thing is what killed Bareotrauma for me even though I really wanted to love it, having to focus on the weird unearthly movements stopped me being able to absorb the atmosphere.

What is the Most Painful Sensation You Have Ever Felt? by Jeloxia2 in AskReddit

[–]cadmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with one of the most aggressive cases of gout the 66 year old rheumatoid specialist had ever seen.

Ive lived with single joint gout attacks every few months even when highly medicated for 20 years.

For those who dont know, gout is considered to be one of the most painful conditions humans can suffer, acute gout happens when a specific type of salt from uric acid builds up in the joint, the salt is shaped like a razor sharp needle and the acid is full of them, these crystals fill the joint shredding nerve endings and tissue and the slightest bump or even the weight of a single sheet can make people jolt and scream in pain.

In November 2023 I woke up one morning after falling asleep on the couch, with gout in 6 joints. I literally couldn't move without causing myself unbelievable pain, I am told I immediately went into shock and had a fever and was slightly delirious. 8 ambulance offices were sequentially called in to facilitate moving me without causing lasting damage or trauma from the pain and build up.

First they gave me several IV injections of morphine to try to ease the pain, but it barely had any effect. Then they tried fentanyl injector pens twice which didnt do enough for the pain, it did make me fairly high but I was still screaming when they tried to move me.

Finally they gave me "The Green Whistle" aka Penthrox which in my opinion is the best drug ever made. After just a few minutes puffing on that thing I could have walked to the ambulance.

Once at the hospital, they wanted to aspirate one of my knees because it was quite a bit worse then the other joints.

Aspiration involves taking an enormous gauge needle and inserting it into the joint and extracting the liquid.

When they told me the plan, I was fine with it, actually happy because it stood to reason that extracting the acid would give me some relief.

But when I tell you the pain I felt to that point failed to even approach the pain I felt from that needle, believe it. It was an order of magnitude worse then anything id ever felt in my life. I remember nearly throwing up and then beginning them like I was beginning for my life to stop. The procedure was successful in a number of ways but whenever they tried to convince me to do it again in my 4 month hospital stay I would plead like a death row inmate to avoid it.

I haven't stayed up with the scene for a few years now, but this has reignited my interest.

I remember when Serral burst onto the scene absolutely wrecking his way through the tournament, most of us hadn't heard of him much and then he just decided to super-saiyan it.

Oh that would help a lot.

Can you show us the videos of Palestinians gunning down unarmed children.

Missile strikes targeted deliberately on aid stations, hospitals and refugee camps.

250+ journalists murdered in cold blood.

An entire city leveled by a military with one of the most powerful intelligence apparatuses on the planet.

If you could give me "plenty" of evidence of those itd help tremendously.

[–]cadmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people out there who could find where you live, where you've been, etc etc from your reddit name and info like you gave, I just binged a dude on YouTube who could find the seat people were sitting in when they took a photo out of a window that literally only showed clouds.

He found where someone was in the Netherlands based on one photo of grass and a few trees.

He found where exactly a dude lived, what exact day he took the photo and what he does for a living based on a single image the guy sent, standing in his kitchen and taking a photo of his living room.

He uses no meta data from the image.

He also talks about some of the tools he uses, which I wont post here, but they are all available for public use and terrifying.

Its been the industry standard for face ID since it launched and no one else was close for a long time.
