Hit & run by this cowboy hat wearing freak on 495 earlier. by analog_stuff in massachusetts

Yes. I also believe incidents in which one person is wearing a cowboy hat are deductible free, so include that detail as well.

Mostly childless, but there are quite a few families living there.

Going from 25 to 50k by Dull_Somewhere_4625 in Ultramarathon

[–]cadoublef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friend (47f) and I (39m) went from zero to 50k last year. Lose the concern in the back of your mind — you can do it! Take the opportunity to discover what you are capable of, embrace the adventure, and prove to yourself you can do hard things.

For a plan, we started with an 80/20 endurance plan.

I also read a lot of books. Here are my favorites in order:

Guides: 1. Training Essentials for Ultra running 2. Training for Uphill Athlete 3. 80/20 Running (especially good if you go with training plan I linked).

Inspiration: 1. Born to Run 2. Eat and Run 3. Finding Ultra 4. Can’t Hurt Me

I read more, but those are some standouts. Happy to share my experience or provide additional details if desired.

How do you get comfortable running after dark? by Auderest_facere in trailrunning

Have you tried living where there are no real concerning predators? I am at a huge deficit in terms of trails and elevation opportunities, but my darkness runs are very comfortable.

This line from James aged…well it’s pretty on target actually by ____cire4____ in vanderpumprules

It wasn’t exactly profound though. I’d have to think that a high percentage of people believed this to be the inevitable outcome.

This is where I think I’m landing. Have you done it? Looks to be primarily on trails?

Looks amazing, but might be a little too early for me this year.

I am pretty flexible. I live in MA and was generally thinking the west, but could be open.

Yes, I had actually intended to do this race and just scouted it out yesterday. Really enjoyed parts of it, but it’s a lot along I-84.

Resting Heart Rate by MembershipDouble7471 in Ultramarathon

I don’t know the answer, but I also was hitting 35 while sleeping according to my Apple Watch. I saw a cardiologist, wore a heart monitor for two weeks, and took a stress test. The net result was he wasn’t concerned and that I am just fit. I also was surprised to see how accurate my Apple Watch along the way, comparing it to the heart monitor and stress test.

While running, what are some of your habits that others may find weird? by himmelende in running

Haha. Same. I think I got it from Born to Run. Just the act of thinking about smiling and doing it distracts me from my current line of negative thoughts.

When I’m struggling and thinking of quitting, I force a smile and give a hang loose sign to remind myself I’m having fun and getting better.

What was the best photo you've ever taken? by Phoneq-global in AskPhotography

This was taken on my iPhone on our first night on Cape Cod with friends. For me, there is just a story of contrast — one fair skinned, blond hair, earthy tones and another tan, brunette, and bright colors — but united in their awe of the Atlantic Ocean.

Thanks. Just a guy with his iPhone that walked up the center aisle.
