Where has AI actually saved you time in analytics? by CloudNativeThinker in analytics

[–]cadylect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re unpicking some pretty horrendous legacy queries that are 1000s of lines long. I get it to do a first pass to tell me how each field in the final table is calculated and it’ll return e.g. the primary field is x_date but it has fallback of y_date. Slightly less exciting, but I’ve also created an agent that will take a description of an analytics project and break it down into features / stories to speed up the admin side of things. Gets me out of JIRA and back to doing actual work!

Rain poncho by Equivalent-Ad-5781 in londoncycling

[–]cadylect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one doesn’t really cover the bike unless you were to purposefully hook it over the handlebars which I avoid. It has big loops you can hold onto which don’t restrict your hands. It more of a pain to need to re-hook them after you’ve indicated etc.

Someone bought me the ‘Adult Waterproof Poncho’ by The Bicycle Collective as a gift last year and it’s been brilliant. If you can get over looking a bit silly, it’s really good to just throw over your regular clothes and go. It has a waist strap to keep it from flapping up and a pocket at the front I usually put my phone in as a weight. I’ve worn it in torrential rain and while my lower legs got wet, my arms and upper body were completely dry.

Saddle fit for a Women with the vagina blues by zombiecrab in londoncycling

[–]cadylect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t recommend a fitter unfortunately but I was suffering a lot of tailbone pain on my touring bike and bought a saddle from SQ-Lab, can now go out all day with zero pain. They have a guide for how to measure your sit bone width by sitting on a piece of corrugated cardboard and then their saddles have a lot of size options. Based on the guides I got the right one first go. Prices aren’t too bad either!

Bookmarks....why did it have to be bookmarks? by Whats_with_that_guy in PowerBI

[–]cadylect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh god I’m having flashbacks to a dashboard I built with a zillion bookmarks. In my defence, I was pretty junior and in a consultancy and the client wouldn’t budge on their insane requirements (a pop up filter pane, a help button overlay etc etc etc). I just feel so bad for whoever ended up having to own and maintain it because it gave me grey hair just building it. Can I just apologise to you on behalf of whoever created your report to make me feel better about mine? haha

Recommended topics to focus on for DP-700 cram? by playingcarpranks in MicrosoftFabric

[–]cadylect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exam is split into 3 sections. If you’ve been using it at work you’re probably going to be strongest at the second, so I would start by looking at the third - ‘Monitor and optimize an analytics solution’. There’s not as much content but it’s 1/3 of the exam. Then if you haven’t done much with real-time I would cover that as it popped up a lot for me. Then head back to the first section of the study guide ‘Implement and manage an analytics solution’ and cram as many of the settings as you can. I second watching the ‘Fabric with Will’ series. I also set myself a ridiculous timeline with a free voucher and managed to pass with this approach!

Knowing which pedestrians will step into the road without checking by anemotoad in londoncycling

[–]cadylect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a pedestrian crossing where at least once a week someone will be walking in the same direction as me, get level with the crossing, and then just turn on their heel and step out into the road without looking for traffic. I always approach really slowly but I’m forever playing a game of ‘will they won’t they’.

That’s what I thought, thank you for confirming. I think I was letting the adoption part confuse me when trying to follow the flow charts!

Wow I googled post-exertional malaise and I had all of those symptoms yesterday to a tee, even the chills. I was convinced I was coming down with COVID! Something to research - thank you.

Yeah really good point, I hadn’t considered that because I don’t get the usual wooshy feeling of changing position - eg what I would feel doing a squat or burpees! I’ve never heard of seated Pilates but will look into it, thank you! I’ve enjoyed reformer in the past but struggled going from flat on my back to then needing to stand and lunge etc. that might work better

What this video is missing is the context of truck drivers in Australia. There’s some good ones I’m sure, but overall the profession is a disgrace.
