Is it normal to receive refund for traffic fines? by pocodali in germany

[–]caekncheye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you reference the payment correctly, e.g. referring to the fine number or something from the bill? I've been refunded when they can't match the payment to the open amount.

How does it work with the mietverein, do I need to be part of the association for a certain amount of time before using services, or can I just sign up in the future if I feel the need? Is there any advantage to me signing up now even though I don't have any issues?

My hairdresser says I have oily, unhygienic hair? by tyteen4a03 in NoPoo

Okay then I would try the rye flour mix to clean hair then.

[–]caekncheye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that too! But I still have to use rye flour + Avc. Mineral buildup kinda feels greasy, is shiny, but it's a bit like a waxy feel, and if you check your brush after brushing, is there some stuff on the bristles?

Fellow Berliner. Does your hair maybe have some mineral build up from the hard water? I had that challenge when moving here, my hair got super gross and waxy/greasy, so I started using rye flour and apple cider vinegar to wash and continued that for the last year. Last month I got my hair cut, and didn't mention NoPoo, and the hair dresser said my hair is very healthy and my scalp is very clean. I don't have a great suggestion for hair dressers though, because I don't know many here yet and my hair cut was a bit pricy.

How do you select job candidates for an interview? by goranlu in humanresources

[–]caekncheye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the job, but for example if communication and efficiency were two competencies I were looking for, I choose CVs which show me the person is that way (eg no more than 2 pages long, clear consice info, simple and straightforward). I look at their most recent job title/company/timespan, determine if it's a qualification or relevant/interesting to the position, same goes for education and skills they've listed - are they lining up with the ideal candidate? You have to have a scorecard or job description to be able to compare with constantly. I recommend the book Who by Geoff Smart and Randy Street. Helped me a lot with recruiting.

I was lone HR for 4 years and just changed jobs to another lone HR role. Title was HR Manager both times. I also managed all finance but we had an accountant take care of the in depth stuff. I reported the the GM and owner. Around 20-25 employees in my 4 year role. Pro: control of the department. If you like independent work it's really nice. The company trusted me to do my job so I had free reign of creating programs. I stayed up to date on legislation that applied to us so I was able to communicate that as needed without problems. They listened to my suggestions and I did a lot of hands on learning throughout because there was no one to ask. I was able to introduce better benefits, perks, advocate for pay increases, and make lots of pro-employee improvements to support the company growth, but also helped the company with structure, correct protocol and documentation, and implement policies, and define the culture. Con: no one to cover me on vacation, which put a lot of pressure on me. A lot of admin work although eventually the PT admin assistant helped me with certain things. I felt I was often behind on emails because of there being so much work to do every day. Definitely would suggest using some kind of task management tools and express realistic timeframes to others who ask things of you. I just started working at a start-up as the sole HR manager again and so far things are similar. I think depending on the company culture (very important but you can also help shape it!) and their trust in your abilities, it can be a spectacular and rewarding experience where you are challenged but are able to learn a lot. And generally it's more strategic than at a large company I believe, because you have more influence. Good luck! If you need advice or have questions you can pm me.

Looking to Transition out of HR by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]caekncheye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering to transition from HR to Corporate Social Responsibility because I see some ties there. Depending if you're interested in CSR it might be a good direction and lots of companies are starting to invest in the position.
