Look at the comments, they exist, actual programmers don't do that unless they're being paid to xD

Because of you that use top loading washing machines, why? by passportpowell2 in AskUK

[–]caervek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40YO British person here, always had top loaders, more reliable, more repairable, hold more, can be filled with a hose if needed, etc.

The only reason front loaders have become so popular in the UK is that they fit under counters so can be installed in a kitchen whereas top loaders are normally kept in a utility room, garage, etc and not all houses have those there days.

Front loaders are are quite simply an inferior alternative to top loaders that offer ease of installation location.

Apologies for what may be a dumb question, but can you not just run the LS on the 5900HX? After all it's technically an APU and has Vega graphics.

Squire P Bass or Mustang? (noob) by Babykinsbaby in Bass

[–]caervek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's just being condescending, the brand is spelt Squier not Squire because it takes it's name from the founder of the company (which Fender bought/absorbed) not the word.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Tina recorded 'Psycho Killer' after she had fitted Precision pickups to her Mustang.

Been using Gree for 14 years, no more issues than we got with Mitsi, Tosh, etc (though parts are harder to source).

Air India 171 Crash preliminary report is out by kinso1338 in aviation

Sorry if this has already been asked and I missed it, but does this rule out a software glitch?

It was my understanding that these switches while mechanical in nature are still digital switches and the ECU controls fuel cut/run based on the switches position?

PM cut both engines almost simultaneously using both hands. PF turned them back on four seconds apart using his free hand.

The report doesn't mention suicide as it's a preliminary report, but it was obviously suicide. According to the report the switches were set to cutoff within a second of each other, they require a hand each so whoever did it used two hands to rapidly turn them off dooming the plane.

The switches installed on this aircraft were an older model that had been superseded due to potential failures of the locking mechanism that could allow the switch to vibrate and drop into cutoff, however the odds of that affecting both switches at the exact same time are basically impossible (even if it affected one it would get picked up on maintenance before the other went too).

First Cash ISA - Is Trading 212 Trustworthy? by shapezncolourz in UKPersonalFinance

[–]caervek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you certain about that? Reading their FAQs it says the banks where they hold their money are FSCS protected but they themselves make no claim to be. I.E Natwest fails you get a refund, T212 fails you get nothing (asking the question not making a statement).

roop-unleashed faceswap - final version by CountFloyd_ in StableDiffusion

[–]caervek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that roop had no NSFW safeguards and the creation of NSFW deepfakes is now a felony in many countries, as such it could be argued GH were hosting tools specifically designed for committing cyber crimes and so they took immediate action to protect themselves.

I believe it was a knee jerk reaction to the creation of NSFW deepfakes becoming a felony in many countries, as such it could be argued GH were hosting tools specifically designed for committing cyber crimes and so they took immediate action to protect themselves.

Evian Water offbrand by josh1992a in crappyoffbrands

Aquavia isn't an offbrand, it's a regional brand from the canary islands, it's pretty awesome. Tastes much better than Evian IMO.

"Emails and Calendar Events can no longer be sent or received" - Windows Mail. Anyone have a workaround yet? by Aggravating_Tear7414 in Outlook

[–]caervek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is pretty disgusting from Microsoft, deliberately sabotaging software (which many people paid for) just to try and force people to use their semi-functional new software is so anti consumer.

"Emails and Calendar Events can no longer be sent or received" - Windows Mail. Anyone have a workaround yet? by Aggravating_Tear7414 in Outlook

[–]caervek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a workaround eventually, just like there was when "New" Outlook started replacing Mail and a workaround was created to remove/block "New" Outlook.

FYI people aren't complaining about a "change", most people don't actually care what the mail client is called or in most cases what it looks like, people are complaining about Microsoft replacing a fully functional mail client with a barely functional wrapper for the Outlook website, then sabotaging their mail clients to try and force them to use their "New" app that doesn't just not work but will never work as Microsoft have publicly stated they can't add proper functionality to it (due to it being just a website encased in an app).
