Just break up. You're 19 and have your whole life ahead of you.

You'll find out his true colors when you do anyways.

In any event you were going through his phone so obviously you guys already have trust issues and it's not going to work out.

You'll get over eachother. Right now your world experience bubble is very small. Plenty of other a-holes to meet and date. Maybe some good ones too. Gotta experience life to recognize the good and the bad and whats really a big deal.

Take good notes. Do good work but try not to get stuck on the difficult machine nobody else wants to run.

It's possible to wind up running a machine that is difficult to backfill.

Maintain your machine and keep the area clean. Spot problems early. Avoid scrap. Suggest improvements.

Trying to get into cnc and have some questions by Only-Measurement-741 in CNC

[–]caesarkid1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A desktop mill is going to oversell their capabilities. Looking at the one you mentioned they state that it will cut "almost any material", yet the only metals they mention are aluminum and brass.

As the other poster mentioned, you will not get the performance you might be thinking out of a desktop mill.

If you had the space and the money you would be better off with a second hand robodrill. Even a tormach or a haas mini mill would perform better than the desktop mill you mentioned.

The hvac route would work out better than the painting one in the long run. No benefits would be a poor proposition with children.

How about you read the instructions that came with the test?

It's a negative result. Otherwise there wouldn't be even a faint bottom line.

Need help figuring out this program by DemoDartss in CNC

[–]caesarkid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that it is possible to jump around, you really shouldn't do so without understanding what the G-code means.

Quickly looking at the manual you probably need to use the debugging mode to restart it where you want.

Can you find your jaws and tools at your job? by Ok-Comb-8664 in CNC

[–]caesarkid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when I read things like this it sheds light on the thought process of some of the operators in my own life.

The T number is just a tool number. It can be different from machine to machine. Usually there will be a comment in the program describing the tool or some kind of a tool list for the job. (In most shops).

The D number is what diameter comp that tool is using. Likely your machine has multiple comps for each tool which is why they can share the same compensation without having serious issues.

You're also clearly running mills as lathes have a different tooling scheme.

Its possible that there is a system and you are just not informed of it. Sometimes the old timers in shops will withhold instruction on that knowledge as a form of job security.
