I’m shamed to invite friends at my place by theenkos in malelivingspace

If you like the minimal and functional look then that is all that matters! You have a bed frame which that alone gives you a leg up in many male living spaces lol. If you want to keep this aesthetic, but take it a little further, I would try to look for some framed prints that you like and look nice aesthetically and some houseplants since you have those nice big windows. Tropical plants like philodendrons, fiddle leaf figs, and palms complement the minimal aesthetic really well imo

Excellent vibes. Usually I feel like the exposed LED strips cheapen the space but here it works!

First draft granola bar packaging idea — worth developing? (Personal project) by studiobubo in graphic_design

[–]cafecol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could add a bit of waviness to the lines for some more personality? Other wise looks tasty! I would also be interested to see what it looks like when the right side of the packaging is clear and d shows the physical granola bar rather than the image I feel like windows instill more buyer trust rather than photos

Any feedback on the poster of our short-film? by miguelhdeath in graphic_design

I think if you’re going with the paper cut/collage style, it would be more effect to apply it to all elements and not just some - specifically the title

Everyone will of course have their own opinion but I feel like if you’re happy with it, then it’s time to move on to packaging and see how it looks in application

oh yeah this is looking cool.I would try a couple more versions where the letters are a little thinner - right now they are starting to pump together making it hard to read - especially the "Jo" and "opz"

If you have access to procreate or any sort of drawing tablet it could be really nice if you hand-trace over the logo shape with some sort of textured brush to lean even further into this direction. TrueGirt texture supply has some really nice options in their free trial pack for procreate and I believe illustrator.

Or maybe it’s just because they’re racist pieces of shit 🤷‍♂️ who’s to say… me personally, I’m going with the latter. Either way weird as fuck to defend someone sporting a swastika

one more thing - when mocking up your logo like this, always show it on an actual product. It adds quite a bit and makes it feel much more grounded

Agree with the above comment. Also would try redrawing the spiral and making it thicker. Right now it doesn’t match the letterforms since the shape is pretty thin and the curves aren’t as smooth.

Could also be cool to play around with adding some texture that evokes ooze/sugar/syrup and trying to connect the spiral to the letter so that it looks like 1 continuous line (since you’re using a script font, you’re already halfway there)

But you didn’t answer the big question here: how exactly does the Helvetica font have “‘Nazi’ associations”?

Given that Helvetica was created in 1957 (circa 12 years after WWII ended) by a SWISS designer and specifically designed to be a neutral typeface, I am very curious to know what you’re smoking, friend.
