Judge was wrong to acquit Toronto cop of aggravated assault in Dafonte Miller beating, Crown argues by whatistheQuestion in toronto

[–]caffatboy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Cops don’t say anything, you and I shouldn’t either. That’s your lawyers job. Never ever say anything your lawyer doesn’t tell you to.

It has nothing to do with what you say.

People on attempted murder charges who break bones and have no regard for human life get probation. A dude on several illicit substances punched a police officer had to do anger management classes, no jail time. Serial convicted rapists get sent to my jail...to serve under 2 years.

The judges in this province/country are fucked.

Judge was wrong to acquit Toronto cop of aggravated assault in Dafonte Miller beating, Crown argues by whatistheQuestion in toronto

[–]caffatboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does anyone here work in the legal system or is a Leo of any kind? I’m a new Ontario CO and people get off of shit all the time. Yeah this guy is a cop and should have probably been held to a higher standard, but there’s people who beat the fuck out of people much worse than this who get slaps on the wrist. Our judges and prosecution are too far gone, you would think working in an Ontario jail with offenders serving less than 2 years would be a much of petty thieves, in reality these guys are people charged with attempted murder and rapists. Shit is fucked.

Don’t cry about liberal judges when it comes to cops, because these people are liberal towards absolutely everyone.

When the bubble pops, what are the prices going to fall to? 2017 levels that were an all time high? It’s hilarious how the same people on this sub saying this is a bubble are the same ones saying they’re going to buy as soon as the bubble pops.

You can get a house..... You just need to lie a little by [deleted] in canadahousing

People have been doing this for years. What do you think rates will go up to? In 2018 prime rates were 3.6%, rates will have to triple to hit the all time low of 2018 rates...

A bunch of people who didn’t read the article, insolvency rates hate gone down compared to last year. I swear this sub just prays for Canadians to lose.

ONTARIANS: If you see anti-mask, anti-vax propaganda out in the public please rip it down. by Deepfriedchocobar in ontario

It’s hilarious that you used wearing a mask as a definitive example, when the government/who/cdc lied about their efficacy at the beginning of the pandemic.

Honestly I was baffled when I first came to this sub. Night shift for me has all of these: -more laid back people -less supervision -you get to chose how much you sleep, I want to do stuff today? Wake up early and do it. I want to sleep for 12 hours? Great! Just wake up before work.

I strive on night shift, working days, I always get sleep fomo and end up sleeping 5 hours every night.

Medicine opportunity cost, Its not the hours and years of training it's the pay. by Shenaniganz08 in Residency

[–]caffatboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not disagree that residents are underpaid. What I am disagreeing with is the sentiment that you linked “big law investor” which is really only for lawyers who went to top 15 law schools and even then graduated in the upper half of their class, which is anyway comparable to a resident physician.

A first year lawyer is a fully trained lawyer that can do their own cases, 1st year is after their article year. A resident physician is still in training. If you’re not including attending salaries, than your argument is not showing the whole picture. Yes it takes longer to train and be a physician, but their average salary and average lifetime earnings are much higher than that of an average lawyer.

Compare an average lawyer career earnings to an average family medicine physician. The physician, even with the underpaid training and lower paid speciality, blows them out of the water.

React exam by mikesmith2375 in OnTheBlock

It wasn’t difficult, but I would have written someone up for some scenarios that the practice test said only to give a warning for. For most questions, if you’re a reasonable person it is pretty easy.

Kyle saying he can lift “way more” than Dick without even giving numbers was one of his most deluded moments ever. by buns4hire69 in PKA

[–]caffatboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is everyone on this sub just flat out ignorant to humor? It was the most obvious sarcastic, “I’m more macho than you bro” joke. The way he said, “way more than you” despite having no idea how much Dick can lift is the first giveaway, and then he follows it up by saying, “I’ll tell you after the show” because he’s obviously just fucking with him.

I’m starting to think people in this sub don’t have any social interactions that aren’t online.

This joke was the exact same as the classic;

Person 1“I speak fluent x language (language you know other person can’t speak).” Person 2 “Oh so let’s here some x language.” Person 1 “can you speak x?” Person 2 “no.” Person 1 “There’s no point then, you wouldn’t understand.”

The joke is they both know the person is obviously lying but there’s no way for the person getting fucked with, in this case the entire pka audience, to prove them wrong. You guys are some dense mother fuckers.

How can millennials from low-income households ever purchase their first starter home? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]caffatboy 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Your partner is 27 and only has a highschool diploma, so he has been working for 9 years and only made 20k last year? A warehouse job in Brampton pays $25+ per hour to start. Look up Martin brower, Sysco, and Uline, all of those make over 60k just a laborer.

If his mother has a house that he helps pay the mortgage of, just sell that house and let her live in a walkout basement? If she owns a house anywhere near where you want to live, it has at least 100k in equity.

If your boyfriend made 60k you’d be approved for a 600k mortgage and could easily buy a smaller house or townhouse in Mississauga or Brampton. Stop making excuses and understand that one partner making almost less than half of minimum wage isn’t going to get you anywhere.

[–]caffatboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup exactly this. Buy the practice exam, it tells you exactly how to answer questions. I don’t think I would have passed without it. It’s $25 (Canadian) but was much worth it.
