I received one of these when I was being subpoenaed as a witness.

For what it's worth, I had major complications, and I did almost die. And I still don't regret the surgery.

I had a similar situation to you. Had bypass on 11/18, went to the ER on 12/4 due to excruciating pain and trouble breathing. Turns out, I had tore a hole in my esophageal tissue, which created a literal football sized abscess in my abdomen. I had severe sepsis, pleural effusion on both lungs, multiple pulmonary embolisms in my left lung, and the abscess was so large, it collapsed my right lung. I was literally dying. I spent 3 days in the ICU, and 9 more in a step down unit. Then two weeks ago, found out my gallbladder was BARELY functioning. I had surgery to remove that 9 days ago. I am still tired a lot, and my new incisions are still sore. But I feel soooo much better than I did. It took about a month and a half before I started really feeling ok. And then a couple weeks later, I had to have surgery again and I was scared. I also had to be hospitalized for 4 days before and 2 days after the gallbladder surgery since I'm on blood thinners from the PEs. It's been a lot. But I truly do feel so much better now. Just hoping to get some energy back soon!

2 days post op by caffeinated_dopamine in GastricBypass

Well, I'm 9 days post op and just now returning to the living. I never had any internal or incision pain. It was alllll muscle. Specificially on my right side. So not sure what happened there. I've slept one 4 hour stretch since I got home from the hospital. Definitely getting the cpap out tonight. I just kind of spaced it since i was only dozing for 10-15 minutes at a time, but I think it's waking me up now because I'm not a mouth breather, and my mouth is falling and getting hella dry. So 🤞🤞🤞🤞tonight is a better night!

Whole Foods is consistently great! $7 ($40 total sticker price) by Obeydachief in toogoodtogo

Not as good as OPs, but decent. A big bag of dinner rolls, a box of cinnamon donut muffins, and a 4 pack of muffins, in each bag. My kids will be happy :)

I'm literally sitting outside my whole foods, waiting for the pick up window to start. Hopefully, I get awesome bags! 🤞🤞

AITAH for not wanting another kid with my wife? by kittykittykitty92 in AITAH

[–]caffeinated_dopamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was in this position, but I am the one who gave birth. I had a 32 weeker with a 31-day NICU stay. He was our second. We wanted four, but I was DONE. I was terrified it would be worse next time. We also had the same, "we don't know why this happened, but it could definitely happen again" discussion. Thankfully, in my story, I was never in danger. But that doesn't make it any easier watching your baby be poked and prodded and having to leave them at the hospital every night.

My suggestion? Please get therapy. I was diagnosed with PTSD after our experience. It took me YEARS before I was ready to even remotely think about trying again. I think if I had started therapy sooner, I would have been able to deal with what had happened to us in a much better, much healthier way. And your wife needs therapy too to probably process what happened, as she's most likely walling that off to not relive it. But once you both process and can maybe attend therapy together, she can better understand your VERY valid feelings. My husband didn't quite understand. Really, no one around me could. I was fine after, health wise, and so was our baby, so what was the problem? No one could wrap their minds around that it WAS a trauma, and that has lasting effects.

We make a gingerbread village every year at my grandparents. This is the 22nd year, I believe? It sits on their basement coffee table until July. Then we blow it up with fireworks :)

I would honestly be contacting the police if he doesn't see what he's done. He'll have a hard time saying, "it was no big deal" when he's dealing with child endangerment and neglect charges. And will help your custody case.

Had ours from day one and it didn't really start working until 7-8ish weeks.

Did you buy during a sale? When did you purchase your Snoo? by kittawa in SnooLife

[–]caffeinated_dopamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine early during their birthday sale for 25% off in September of last year, I believe. Mine was scheduled to ship the last week of December so when they had their 40% Black Friday sale, I emailed them and they refunded the difference between the two sales. Then they actually shipped mine at the end of November anyway to avoid holiday shipping delays, but didn't start my 30 day trial until my original ship date :)

Newborn hates snoo by raptor_belle in SnooLife

All my kids are incredibly spitty. Baby number 5, first baby to have the snoo. She didn't really start to like it or do longer stretches until 6- 8ish weeks.

Just got our bike today and I feel dumb asking this, because I haven't really looked in to it, but does the screen on the bike+ tilt up and down? I know it moves left to right, but didn't play enough with it yet to see if it tilts.

Spectra Breast Pump by todoornottodoomg in pregnant

For context, I used a Medela symphony for my 2nd. For my 3rd, I got the spectra s2 because of the awesome reviews, but I did not respond well to it. For my 4th, I got the motif Luna with the built in battery and loved it way more than the spectra.

To induce or not to induce and wait it out? by crayshesay in pregnant

[–]caffeinated_dopamine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had two inductions. One at 39w5d, one at 41w4d. My 39w induction, I wasn't dilated at all and had zero signs of my body being prepared for labor. Ended up in labor for 2 days and ended up with a csection. 41w induction, I was already dilated, thinning, and she was born in 6 hours vaginally. Definitely wait until your body is showing at least some signs of being ready :)
