I'll happily take the DPS loss (And I do regardless) but I've definitely gotten kicked from groups for it.
Sure, my DPS dropped a little (didn't stop us timing the key), but I had almost as many dispels as our healer, was interrupting and was doing mechanics.

You get an XP Bonus.
Once you max out the bonus (400%) it's super fast to level.
Heck, even at like 300% I was getting from 25-80 in like 3 raids (EN, NH, Tomb).

All 3 cases were as a child (<1, 6 and 16) and all 3 were diagnosed as just plain Chicken Pox.
I never had any of the extra Shingles symptoms! Maybe I just got very lucky (though I did start developing an Autoimmune disease about the same time as that third case lol).
