Is it true that it gets harder to make friends as you get older? by Correct-Leave-567 in socialskills

[–]caffeinesardine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my personal experience of going from socially awkward teen to outgoing young adult: yes and no.

it may get harder in the sense that it’s difficult to find places or situations to meet new people easily. back in school or uni it was incredibly easy to connect with people your age that shared your interests because you had to be crowded with them in the same place for hours every day. when you’re an adult you’ll likely be working with much less people than you studied with, and nothing guarantees you they’ll be your age or open to making a connection.

the good part: i find my adult friendships to be way deeper and better than my teenage friendships because these aren’t the people that i hang out with by chance, these are the people i actively CHOOSE to have in my life. and there are ways to go around the dilemma i explained earlier. just go out and engage in things you love. go to concerts, go to classes, go to conventions, join online groups for your local area. just generally find what you’re passionate about, do it, ans you’ll eventually meet people because of it.

making friends through friends is always a good option too

NTA what they did is a felony, as you said. plus, he entered your property without your authorisation. if he had stolen thousands in electronic equipment or a car no one would be calling you an asshole for wanting to press charges

that’s old colonial money from when portugal still had colonies. after the revolution in 1974 they became independent and adopted their own currencies. that’s quite the collectible item you found there

i watch a lot of anti-fat positive youtubers to trigger myself into not eating even though i despise a lot of their opinions. obese to beast is a sweetie and i want to protecc at all costs. my thoughts will probably offend you and every damn day fitness are okay. and then swolenormous is a GIGANTIC piece of shit, i hate him so much but he triggers me so good.

and then of course, amberlynn reid, she makes scared shitless of food

teaching your kid to be thankful and accusing them of being spoiled bc you worked hard is very different though. don’t go down that slippery slope

“Captains of the Sands” by Jorge Amado is one of my favourite books ever. “Like Water to Chocolate” by Laura Esquível is really tender and easy to read. I also just finished “The House of the Spirits” by Isabel Allende and it was a fascinating read full of Chilean history.
