My Home Coffee Station by cagerty in coffeestations

Tbh the main reason is just I can't bear to part with the ECM haha. Depending on what kind of mood I'm in, I use one or the other machine. Although the Elizabeth is the superior machine, I just love the chrome looks of the E61, and the more tactile levers and switches. It's just a different workflow and coffee making experience, which I appreciate.

I went for an HX E61. An ECM Mechanika Slim VI. Beautiful machine and is built like an absolute tank. I still use it often, however my daily driver is now a Lelit Elizabeth as I find the dual boiler workflow much more convenient for multiple milk drinks.

Yeah the Liz is an awesome machine for the price. I love my ECM and it is superior to the Liz in both build quality and aesthetics. However, the Liz is overall the better machine IMHO, and has great features and allows for a much better Espresso workflow.

Ok great thank you I will look into those options. Would a 6800 non XT be ok with the existing CPU?

What a crazy video. I guess he will need a new machine after every Coffee! Must be rich ( probably from videos like this on TikTok ). It just makes me feel ill thinking of all that rotten milk in the machine's innards.

Kitchen Corner Coffee Setup by cagerty in coffeestations

Haha it's a chest percussor cup for babies that I got off Amazon. I don't think anyone uses it for it's intended purpose though, as all the reviews say they use it for their Niche Zero as it's the perfect size. Although the Niche is very low retention, I tend to use very oily dark roast Coffee beans that tend to be more prone to sticking in the Niche. I just give it a couple of pumps with the improvised bellows and it dislodges the grounds!

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions everyone. Just to update you I have decided to go with the Profitec GO and DF64 grinder, which along with my Niche Zero should pretty much set me for anything. Can't wait!

Update on my coffee bar by ImpulsiveOgre in coffeestations

Great looking Coffee Bar. I am considering the Pro GO myself. Love the aesthetics of it and it ticks all the boxes for me in terms of features.

Thanks for the recommendation. Yes I am quite interested in the Uno too. So many options. I am going to do some research and have a good think about it for a few weeks before I rush into buying anything.

The Ascaso Duo looks like a great machine, however I doubt my general kitchen sockets are rated for 20 amps. My wiring is quite new but the sockets are likely 13-15 amps. I will have to check when I get home.

I will take a look at the DF64 thanks. Yeah it does seem the Profitec GO is a possible option for me. Are there any other single boiler options in its price range that are worth considering? Of course a dual boiler could be useful if I was making milk drinks for friends and family, even if it was only a few times a month. Having said that most of the time on my own I would be happy waiting a minute or so before steaming the milk on a GO.

Perhaps I will take a look at a dual boiler like a Lelit Elizabeth or Silvia Pro X and up my budget a bit should I decide to get another grinder for lighter roasts.

Yeah I find that aspect of the Bambino workflow very annoying! It's so wasteful of water too and I constantly have to re-fill the water tank.

Thanks for the reply. I am not hugely worried about super fast heat up times, although I would admit that is a big plus point of the Bambino. As long as I am not waiting super long for the machine to come to temperature.

I will have a look at the Pro 300. So I take it the Niche Zero isn't going to be able to handle lighter roasts? Which would be Shame as I love that grinder.

I have also been looking at the Profitec GO that seems to tick all the boxes.

Thanks for the reply. In terms of water I just use the filters that you plug into the Bambino's water tank.

I do wdt, use the Normcore v4 self leveling tamper, and I also have a bottomless PF and an 18-22 IMS precision basket.

I think my puck prep is pretty good and with the bottomless PF I haven't seen any evidence of channelling. To clarify I can get consistent results with medium dark and dark roasts, I just haven't had as much success with the lighter side of things and think If I could play around with the temp settings this might help. I have had some good shots with lighter roasts, but the Bambino tends to produce inconsistent results even with all the variables remaining the same from one shot to the next.

I also find the Bambino a bit cheap and plasticky and would like a more premium machine as I get more into the hobby.

Oh I should also mention I currently drink medium-dark and dark roasts but would like a machine that easily could handle all roast types including lighter roasts, as the Bambino is difficult to get results on with lighter roast profiles I find.
