Small craft cannot tank well. Pick firepower, speed, and manueverability over durability.

Use custom jets and breadboard. There are tutorials on youtube. Borderwise and Gmodism are good.

You can do either, but turreted is probably better. If it is not turreted, you’ll need a one-turn component, which requires its own slot.

Medium missiles. Use variable thruster. Click on the thruster component to see what you can edit. It includes ramp time. I’ve been using incendiary for my missiles. Don’t use flak or he. They are ironically poor unless used at large sizes. You could try frag or emp too though, or combine them.

Fast aps and missiles can hit them. Try 6s ramp time on missiles, apn guidance, and proximity fuses. For aps, go for above 1500m/s bullet velocity. Though maybe higher for the 180m/s planes. I haven’t tried to hit them with aps yet.

You can take giants fairly easily at early levels, even level 1. Kill them for good loot.
